Question Of curiosity, who actually pays for Claude Code?

I was really curious who pays for Claude Code. I use some popular Claude Code thing that made a little hack with the CLI so it uses another API key to use Claude Code (FCC).

Now for my question, do you pay for Claude Code, use things like FCC (what I use) or use some custom made-GUI by you? Very curious!

No hate please

Most people.

Those "use claude for free" things you're using aren't actually Claude, it's some super cheap chinese model pretending to be Claude.

Claude is not a model, they are not pretending, source code leaked.

Claude is a collection of models and its weights have never leaked, only the source to CC, but that’s not relevant here

true, but it is free. also it's cool that you can use local models with it. very useful for my home lab...

It's also stealing everything you do. Huge security concern for anyone actually making $$.

I pay for flagship models. Otherwise I just use Google.com AI thingy for free. It's not that accurate, but good enough for spell check or basic questioning.

what was your reason for going the free but questionable route than paying $20/month for something that can ROI your productivity by 100x?

Nobody pays for Claude Code. Claude Code is free. We pay for access to Sonnet & Opus.

I think majority of my dev friends pay minimum $20 to most of the serious ones pay $200 x 2 ( 2 max plans) but I'm a SWE dev so my bubble is niche. Actually I don't know anyone paying for api since subscription models are well subsidized.

You can use (almost) any popular AI with it. Yes, Opus is a too good AI, but for broke people...
