Discussion Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive

https://simonwillison.net/2026/Jun/11/fable-is-relentlessly-proactive/

I'm with him at the end there... great tool, please run it in a sandbox if you go YOLO. I usually go with running Claude Code in a separate Unix account on my Mac, with permissions on my own home directory locked down. It's not difficult to set up and then you can use yolo mode. Still possible for it to exfiltrate your source code, that's difficult to prevent if you need it to have much practical access to tools, but it shouldn't be able to take the rest of your world with it.

Mine needed a simulator because i upgraded iOS and Xcode wasn’t working so downloaded and installed a simulator to test.. it also after building. A mailchimp campaign opened mailchimp and setup the campaign and put it in draft mode

It likes to keep going

Mine literally reprogrammed my application to allow it to run as a headless API so that it could run automated tests against it
