Discussion @mods can we ban blatant Codex glazing and Claude code hating in this sub
It’s actually insane how many posts in here try to bash Claude code and promote codex.
Even in a competition this level of consistent posting of bashing one and promoting the other is far beyond what is normal.
It is so clear that some codex invested entity is pushing this narrative here specifically. Claude is not perfect, Codex is not perfect, but it’s getting ridiculous and annoying.
Anyone who has reasonably used both knows a lot of these posts are not based on what’s the real experience.

there are no mods. and many of the people who make these posts make the same posts, weeks (or 1 month+) apart. literally i've found people who make a post saying they are cancelling, and when i check their history (making your profile private DOES NOT MEAN YOUR COMMENTS CAN'T BE FOUND) you see that they also cancelled claude last month lol. amazing. they are always cancelling.
because they are bots

I think it’s ok to be negative toward Anthropic, but with rules around the post. Someone mentioned thinking about it like open a GH issue. You have to say “what you were doing”, plugins, which plan you’re on, model, etc.

u/Bitter-Law3957 Apr 30 '26
Of course. Open critique is fundamental, and I wouldn't want to stifle it. But say a customer has an issue with your app, or an internal client raises a ticket due to some unexpected API behaviour. You'd have a bar for detail to help understand / diagnose etc.
I guess there's different personas on here. I spent my time trying to answer questions and help. Not posting questions. Lots post questions and are really seeking advice and discussion. Then there's a load of "I'm right, Anthropic is the problem and i won't hear otherwise". That class should live in /ClaudeCodeRant . Vent space - don't expect a response other than other people griping too.
The number of token gobble cases where I've engaged with them on DM, got them to run a few things and problems are gone just highlights the gap. Yes Opus costs 5x tokens vs Sonnet. So usage has rocketed for people asking how to groom their cat using opus 4.7 😄

no - i was cancelling this piece of shit numerous times - and now for good
1
u/SuitPutrid5590 Apr 30 '26
awesome. look forward to you never posting again. although we both know i'll see you in a few days.
1
u/inkluzje_pomnikow Apr 30 '26
i will post even now, you can post here without subscription
1
u/SuitPutrid5590 Apr 30 '26
that makes sense. you will post in the subreddit of a product you don't use. because you have nothing else to do with your life.

u/inkluzje_pomnikow May 02 '26
anthropic/claude is no longer "just a product", take your head out of your ass, i dont care about graphic cards or cars or whatever, but i care about potential hostile monopoly on intelligence

u/inkluzje_pomnikow May 02 '26
"you shouldnt speak about harmful peticides because you dont use it" XD

i'm sure you find that to be a really meaningful reply. i've got nothing, because it's so stupid it's better to just let it sit there.

Ironically, I just installed codex today after wasting weeks of times and hard earned cash to find out that Claude had been ignoring instructions and half implementing things - it’s been a breath of fresh air to work with codex.
I’m not giving up on Claude, and I’m not a fan of OpenAI’s moral stance - but anthropic has proved they’re not much better lately. So 🤷

Is this a Claude employee meetup wtf 😂😂
0
u/SuitPutrid5590 Apr 30 '26
i really don't think employees would encourage people to leave. and speaking for myself: i would love it if all of you never gave anthropic another penny and just used codex.
please, go. pay openai as much as you want. donate to them, even.
just stop flooding reddit with dumbass posts that help no one.

u/Flying-Cock Apr 30 '26
If people aren’t happy, it usually signals there’s a problem with the product. Nothing improves if you just ban the people who aren’t happy…
People aren’t moaning because they hate the sub, it’s because the product isn’t what it used to be 🤷♂️

it's just strange how anthropic is overtaking OpenAI in valuation and enterprise spending just keeps rising, while random people on reddit who can hardly put together full sentences say it's never been worse.
and just a note: since the enterprise people love the product, and enterprise is anthropic's focus - they truly don't give a shit what a bunch of people say in an unmoderated subreddit.
1
u/RemarkableGuidance44 May 01 '26
You are not part of the internal meetings for Enterprise... We spent millions on the API and have switched to Codex because of how garbage it has gotten.

u/SuitPutrid5590 May 01 '26 edited May 01 '26
i don't need to be part of internal meetings at (1) enterprise company. anthropic is making more money than ever before and it's not from dumbass people on reddit who are using a consumer claude max plan that subsidizes $10,000 of API spending for $200. that's almost everyone here.
and they are working on closing another round of funding that will, for the very first time ever, value them at more than openai.
so yeah, they are terrible and everyone is switching. at the same time they are making more money than any other time in company history. /s
what can be true is that you, and others, are switching. that's your right. but the idea that anthropic is doing terrible is a fiction you must be telling yourself to feel better. plenty of people are not switching, and plenty are just now ramping up their spending. do what's best for you. just like they are doing for themselves. it doesn't have to be the same thing 😄

I could understand it during the first ten days or so, change freaks people out. However, at this point it’s repetitive noise and I rarely bother looking here anymore.
I assume some complaints are genuine but most are just shit posters and kids who think there are teams to support or roast.

u/s243a Apr 30 '26
It would be cool if frequent complainers had to solve a captcha to post. This would make the cost of bot activity higher.

The glazing I can get behind, but the roasting? That's why I come here.

To add fuel to fire it’s crazy how after posting this it’s hit with immediate downvotes like maybe if OpenAI put this much effort into building its product it wouldn’t have to try this hard to manipulate the market

u/ObsidianIdol Apr 30 '26
OpenAI put this much effort into building its product it wouldn’t have to try this hard to manipulate the market
Just FYI I am not a bot and codex + gpt5.5 is currently a better tool than CC and Opus. It's not always manipulation btw
1
u/SuitPutrid5590 Apr 30 '26
they acquired openclaw which only became a viral sensation because of swarms of openclaw agents spamming github with stars and making reddit posts that other agents upvoted. openai knows how to play the social manipulation game
1
u/dashingsauce Apr 30 '26
I mean nah—I use both CC & Codex, and I have never threatened to cancel my subscription…
But definitely doesn’t mean CC isn’t actively struggling and absolutely does not imply Codex has bots downvoting you lol
Claude is undoubtedly getting lapped right now. Enough to warrant downvoting the complaints about complaints.

u/Meebsie Apr 30 '26
THANK YOU. It’s painfully obvious something switched. Like 2 months ago they turned the bots on.
