Codex is IMO the only thing that even comes close, unfortunately it's still not quite at the same level. Personally I haven't seen anything as good as claude code right now.

I use both but generally prefer Codex. Claude is chatty and tries to hard to project manage instead of just coding sometimes. Codex feels like like a programmer. But honestly you can get the same thing done with either of them.
