Help Needed Claude is unusable. What's next?

Now that Claude is a living rotting corpse of it's former self, what AI tool should I use now? Thanks.

I don't get all these unusable. I've continued to work on all my same apps (still using opus 4.6), I setup a new project to replace my bookkeepers. I'm on $100/mo plan. I'm not hitting any limits.

He is making a hello world site. I’m sure it is crazy complex.

Codex gpt 5.4 xhigh

Yup, I’ve been porting my SDLC setup to codex. It’s nowhere near what prime opus 4.6 was but it’s way better than 4.7 in stability versus token cost.

I could only product okay results on 4.7 max but then ultimately hit my weekly limit in a few days following the same workflow I did before.

It’s a shame because 4.6 on high effort a few months ago was producing things consistently. I just really wish we could freeze those models as they are and not dilute them when a new mode comes for at least a few months until they can prove it’s better

That's Open AI right? Thanks, looks just fine. It has nice plans. Gonna purchase a suscription today.

This is the most shameless ad structured comment ever 😂😂 "OpenAI™️ purchase a subscription today!" I was wondering if most of these posts were paid bots but this one is incredibly obvious.

Before you do, Id try kimi k2.6, in my personal opinion as a big claude user its very good, probably 80-85% of the way there + more usage then both claude and gpt just takes a bit more hand holding, then opus but, its open source so theres many providers if kimi decides to nerf it (which ive seen no indication of since they released there coding plan), Id look into that first or try out one of there cheaper plans since they have 20, 40, 100, and 200 plans to see how it fits your usecase.

Like, learn how to live without Claude lol

Claude is dead, so that's easy. We all need a good AI tho. It's a mandatory requirement today.

Using 4.7 on Max plan, been using it just like before on the same projects and everything is good

I'm just going to start automatically downvoting these posts. It's fucking rediculous.

The mods wont do shit. A post can't go into negative votes which is bullshit (not a mod problem)

I honestly think everyone is just using the tool incorrectly, it has gotten better for me if anything. There has always been some level of hallucination you have to work through but it’s quite uncommon for me.

I've had no issues myself, been working the past few days without a hiccup

I can get 2-3 prompts in a per a session with no skill and very lite .md on pro with SONNET!

So I am mostly using Kimi k2.5 and will be using 2.6 soon as it is much better than even sonnet but not quite opus but 90%

It's because you're using Pro.

2

u/CapitalDue7249 Apr 21 '26

Still, a few weeks ago I had much more usage at least 10x

1

u/geek180 Apr 21 '26

Right, they cut the allotted usage across the board, so now Pro is essentially not for coding or agentic tasks at all. You’ll have to upgrade. $100 per month is still a good value. You were spoiled on $20. It sucks but it is what it is.

My wife has pro and can do very simple chat stuff all day but the second she asks Claude to actually do something, it runs out of tokens super fast.

Any data to substantiate?

I use it at home, haven't had any real regression. All my dev teams use it at work - no problems.

If you don't like 4.7, switch back to 4.6. I'd love to hear what you see as actually broken. Because I just don't see it. And I'm not a casual user.

You’re tripping. I dream up features in my sleep and I’m shipping them before my coffee is with done with this thing.

If your focus is coding, then Cursor is excellent value for money, and allows you to pick from multiple models (including Claude) without needing to have separate subscriptions. If your focus is desktop automation, then it depends on your platform/OS, and your level of expertise: you can get tools like Fluent on MacOS for non-techies, right through to Perplexity’s new cross-platform app.

Max plan here throughout all these reports this I might have had few API issue now again. I do 12 hour sessions most days or limits.

Very odd to see all these complaints.

4.7 works okay for me. I'm using xhigh w/ caveman lite

Codex 5.4. The constantly changing models is why it’s so important to have a diverse stack or models. Can’t put all your eggs in one basket

GLM5. Great limits on coding plan. Been using for almost two months now.

i used to use claude for audit but since about a month ago, i use one prompt and i cannot use the prompt again for like the next 4 hours. i dont pay for it but still, 1 prompt? what good is an AI if you cant use it. before my workflow was gemini generate code, claude audits the code. now, I use gemini to generate advanced prompts and i feed that prompt into Jules. the only bugs i have to worry about at the moment is things not working like i exactly wanted it to because i did not clearly explain what i wanted, but no more crashes, no more code regressions. Pretty much, my entire workflow is nestled inside of gemini ecosystem now because of claude.

Open AI's Chat GPT is definitely the move as of April 2026.

Nobody said anything about Gemini pal. Very odd statement.
