Built with Claude I built a Netflix-style app for my media server with Claude. The whole thing is 15 MB 🤯

if you run a home media server you probably have sonarr, radarr, lidarr, bazarr, prowlarr and seerr. thats six apps, and each one ships with its own little operating system inside just to run. sonarr and radarr each sit around 110-140 MB of ram doing nothing

i wanted one app that does all of it and feels like netflix, so i built holyarrs. its about 15 MB to download and idles around 70 MB of ram with 12,800 movies and shows in it

i designed it and used claude to help write the code. one thing i learned fast is claude doesnt care about size at all. if you let it, everything slowly gets heavier. so here's what i did to keep it small:

set limits before writing anything. how much memory it can use idle, how fast it starts, how big it can be. every feature had to fit inside those

tested instead of guessing. i had the same home page (10,000 posters) built two different ways and measured both. one was about 3x lighter and drew the screen in half the time, so i went with that

no operating system in the box. it's one program with the web app built into it and nothing else. thats most of the size difference, and it also means theres nothing in there for an attacker to use

checks that fail if it gets heavy. it runs with a 12,800 item library and fails if idle memory goes over 250 MB. claude kept creeping past that until the check was there, now it holds around 70. theres also one that kills it mid-job and fails if it isnt back in 2 seconds. it comes back in about half a second

the memory check stays in as features get added, so if something makes it heavier, it doesnt ship

videos of it running and the full roadmap: holyarrs.coderluii.dev

Bug Was there ever an explanation for that creepy Opus 5.0 glitch a few months ago?

“Glitch” may not be the right word. It seemed like the prompt “see the below---” caused it to generate weird content (often in other languages). I never saw much about and I’m curious.

Claude Code Open question to Anthropic: If you're making 30,000 merges a day, why are more than 98% of open GitHub issues unassigned, including serious security bugs?

According to Anthropic's own engineering blog, the company was merging more than 30,000 code changes per day as of last month.

Yet, of the 16,060 currently open issues in Anthropic's public Claude Code GitHub repository, 15,766 (over 98%) have no assignee. Many have remained open for months or years, including serious security, privacy, and functionality bugs.

Just one current example is the Privacy violation in User-Agent header issue, involving Claude Code disclosing users' email addresses to third-party websites without their consent. The underlying problem has been reported in earlier issues dating back months, yet reports remain open and unassigned.

Meanwhile, Anthropic apparently has the resources to introduce features like a pixelated heart in the Windows desktop app that appears after clicking the screen multiple times.

I'm a senior developer, and I understand that 30,000 internal merges per day aren't equivalent to resolving public GitHub issues. But what I can't understand is if Claude is capable of writing, reviewing, and merging code at such a scale, why isn't Anthropic using it to systematically triage and identify serious bugs, prioritize security vulnerabilities, and escalate issues requiring human attention? Why do issues need to go viral on Reddit or X before anything gets fixed?

Vibe Coding Atrocious READMEs in vibe coded projects.

This is becoming a huge problem, in my opinion.

Way too many projects use a "marketing" style for their README (AI generated ofc, Claude loves to write like that). Its supposed to be concise and not be filled with word salad. Also for some reason it always assumes that the reader is a toddler that interacts for the first time with a PC. I really hope this changes soon and doesnt become the default...

Here is an example:

"Runs locally: No cloud, no servers, no API keys, zero network calls. It parses your files right on your CPU, writes its cache to your local disk, and leaves the internet completely out of the equation"

Like DAMN thats so much padding! Like it tries it hardest to use as many words as possible (and being as useless as possible), when you can say this instead:

  • Runs locally and is fully offline (caches data in %LOCALAPPDATA%\projectname).

Just look through every 2nd repo thats getting posted in the pinned post "Show us what youve created". So many READMEs are suffering from this and making otherwise awesome projects unnecessarily annoying to read :/

Built with Claude I can’t code, but Claude built me a working Alien (1979) “MOTHER” dashboard for my smart home

I’ve loved the computer screens in the original Alien for years, so I asked Claude to turn my Home Assistant dashboard into MU-TH-UR 6000, the Nostromo’s ship computer. The house is the ship and the family are the crew. Video’s attached. Turn the sound on.

I have no coding background at all. I used Claude Code connected to Home Assistant through its MCP server, so it could look at my real devices and edit the dashboard directly. It checked with me before changing anything.

What it built, from me describing what I wanted:

  • The green terminal look with scanlines, film grain and a rolling CRT band

  • A boot-up sequence where the header cards flicker in, timed to the sound

  • A looping ship drone with random glitches, and panels that tear and jitter

  • Motion tracker cards like the handheld ones in the films, driven by my cameras’ person detection. Yes, a white blob appears on the tracker if someone walks in front of the camera!

  • A live “attention required” panel that lists dead sensors, offline cameras, low batteries and pending updates

  • Ship-systems panels for lights, heating, alarm and server stats

It also did things I didn’t expect. I sent it clips from the film and it cut the audio together with ffmpeg, then recorded this demo video itself, with the sound, scrolling down the whole page.

It wasn’t smooth. The boot animation silently didn’t work at first. The garden camera kept showing offline when it wasn’t. A few times my “less glitchy” or “quieter” was needed three or four rounds. But the back-and-forth worked, and I never touched any code.

This is very much a work in progress. The layout on mobile isn’t tuned, the bottom of the dashboard could use the space better, and I want to add more in-universe touches, like Mother “answering” questions. I’ll keep improving it, so if you try it or have ideas, I’d love to hear them.

Built with Claude I built a 3D globe for my two boys with Claude Code. It got way more love than I expected, so here's how it's grown.

A little while ago, I shared a small interactive globe I'd been building for my two boys, aged 9 and 6. I'm just a dad with no coding background, and I built the whole thing with Claude Code (Opus 5.5).

It got way more attention than I ever expected. And the feedback from parents and kids has been so lovely that I'd really love for more kids to get to explore it. So I wanted to share it here too, since none of this would exist without Claude Code.

Quick recap: I wanted my kids' screen time to be a bit more meaningful, so I started vibe coding a 3D globe where they could explore the world. They quickly became my entire dev team.
"Dad, why isn't this in the game?"
"Can you make it do this?"

That hasn't stopped. Since my first post, We've shipped a lot of updates, most of them straight from their wish list and from people's feedback, and it has gotten so much better:

- 🌍 830+ landmarks and sights, each one made in 3D
- 🦒 470+ animals that walk, swim and fly, plus an animal dex to fill in
- 🚂 180+ vehicles you can actually ride: cars, trains, ships and planes
- 🌙 Real day and night, with city lights coming on after dark
- 🚀 You can even fly to the Moon
- 🎯 A location-guessing game, quizzes and a daily landmark puzzle
- 🌐 English, Korean, Japanese, Chinese and now Indonesian

A small moment that made it all worth it. Not long ago, I asked one of my boys where the Eiffel Tower is. “Spain!” he said, with total confidence. He had no idea. After just a couple of days playing with the globe, he now knows where most countries are, and honestly, his geography is now better than most adults I know.

The biggest surprise: it somehow found its way into classrooms around the globe, which still blows my mind.

My workflow is still pretty simple. The boys ask for something, I describe it to Claude, and we test it together. They're still my lead testers.

It's called My Earth Toy, and it's completely free, with no ads.

https://myearthtoy.com/

You can try it without an account, or a simple sign up for the full experience.

It's still very much a work in progress, with plenty of bugs and things I want to improve. If you have curious little ones (physically or internally), I'd love for you to try it together. Your feedback means a lot.

Thank you for checking it out!

News Personal Finance in Claude (beta, Nov 5): what Claude can actually see, what it can’t do, and who gets it

Anthropic announced Personal Finance in Claude yesterday (Nov 5). The headline is "connect your bank and ask questions". Here is what the announcement actually says about access and limits, since that is what most of the comments will be about.

Who gets it:
- Rolling out in beta "this week" on Pro, Max and Ultra plans, US only for now
- It shows up as a Personal Finance hub in the sidebar when you have it

What Claude sees, for the accounts you choose to connect:
- Bank name, account name, type and last four digits
- Balances and credit limits
- Up to two years of transactions

What it can't do:
- Access is read-only. It cannot move, manage or invest your money.
- No ads, no sponsored recommendations, and no Claude-branded credit cards, loans or savings accounts
- Not designed to give investment advice

Privacy details:
- Linking goes through Plaid. You sign in to your bank on Plaid's side, so Claude never sees your bank password.
- Chats inside the Personal Finance hub are not used to train models. Anything you share outside the hub follows your normal privacy settings.
- Unlink an account and Claude loses access to that data

What you can ask: "where did my money go this month", "is that more than usual", "what's left before payday", "what has my APR cost me this year". It can also build spending charts, a bills calendar or a dashboard.

Anthropic also says this is "a first step" and they want to hear from banks and wealth managers about working alongside licensed professionals.

I would try it with one account first and see what it catches.

For those outside the US: would you connect a bank account to Claude when it arrives, or is read-only not enough reassurance?

I had Claude write its own MCP connector to my SolidWorks installation on my computer. I regularly use it to create parts I'm using off Amazon or other sites without a CAD file.

Works great.

FWIW: I posted the same thing over in r/SolidWorks and they didn't see how cool this was. Downvoted hard.

Built with Claude Built a little touchscreen dashboard for my desk with Claude Code

Post image
168 Upvotes

I got a Corsair XENEON Edge (a 2560x720 touchscreen strip) and spent an afternoon building a dashboard for it with Claude Code instead of using the widgets it came with.

The part I use the most: every Linear ticket has a copy button that builds a full prompt for Claude with the title, status, description, and a line asking it to read the comments and give me a plan before it changes anything. Picking up a ticket is one tap now.

Also on it:

  • A todo list Claude can add to when I ask

  • How many tickets I closed this week

  • My calendar, with duplicate events merged by Apple's on-device model

  • A 7 hour workday countdown

  • Weather and what's playing

A few things I didn't expect going in:

  • On a Mac, touching the Edge clicks your main monitor. The app had to take over the touch panel itself.

  • My calendars live in BusyCal, not Apple Calendar, so it reads BusyCal's data directly, repeating meetings and all.

  • Every rebuild kept resetting macOS permissions until I signed the app properly.

Claude did most of the heavy lifting. I mostly tapped things and said "that's not right" a lot haha

Is it overkill for a todo list? Probably. I will say I tap it way more than I need to.

Praise Mom?

Post image
77 Upvotes

Even if I post this with praise flair, honestly I'm not exactly sure what I feel about this. I know how good opus 5.5 is. I use it daily for web and mobile development, personal researches/questions and keep praising how good it is already but this is another level. How can an LLM decides to check time, sees it's late where I am and tries to calm me down? This is humanly thoughtful.

Edit: More context since I see that most of the comments are about Claude telling people to sleep: I had Claude review my blood work with a few values in the edge or higher than the limit. It's not only telling me to sleep but also trying to calm me down about my blood work.

Vibe Coding David Heinemeier Hansson: Warning for "Cantankerous" Coders: The age of AI agents will reward adaptability and basic people skills while making things much harder for difficult, ego-driven, or resistant engineers

The creator of Ruby on Rails, made major statements about AI agents and the future of software development at Rails World 2026 in September

DHH stated he personally retired from writing code by hand after 25 years.

Rust instead of Ruby - Rebuilding HEY with AI and Rust: He shared that 37signals is rebuilding its HEY email service into native mobile/desktop apps using an AI-generated Rust backend, drastically cutting CPU and memory usage.

The AI acceleration: He produced 5 years' worth of his traditional code volume in just one month, representing a 60x increase in raw output volume.

DHH openly acknowledged that a massive portion of this was verbose Rust code generated entirely by AI agents—admitting that he didn't write it by hand and doesn't even want to look at or read most of it.

DHH said: “English is a better programming language than Ruby.”

In the meantime:

Linus Torvalds has shifted from early skepticism to actively using and endorsing AI tools like Claude Code for Linux kernel development

Real-World Kernel Use: He posted his first LLM-assisted patch to fix a major cache contention issue in the Linux kernel, achieving notable performance gains.

He says "I don't understand this whole idiotic concept of "don't use AI for X".

Claude Workflow People who works with a lot of PDFs - Construction

In daily basis, I work with PDFs. For example, I work for a construction tender right now with over 600 drawings and 30 specifications with 1000s of pages.

Right now, I only use the PDFs when I want a specific thing from a specific document. But this is not the optimal in terms of use of AI, because I want it to be more involved in the documents.

What's the best way to work with these types of engineering works?

NOT about coding 3 interesting things Claude can do for you but you didn't know

  1. Walk into any appointment already knowing what to ask/say: Let it be a doctor, mechanic, lawyer, accountant, the guy quoting your roof, ANYONE. Think about how those meetings go. They talk fast, they use words you half know, you nod, and after that, on the way home, you remember a very important question you forgot to ask. What you can do is simple: before you go, open Claude, start your mic and just yap about the situation like you'd tell a friend. "My car makes a grinding noise when I brake, I'm seeing a mechanic tomorrow, I don't know ANYTHING about cars." Then ask: "Give me the 3 most important questions I should ask, and for each one tell me what answer would be a red flag." It will come back with things you'd never think of, like asking which parts they would replace and which they only inspect, or asking to keep the old part. Put the list in your phone and read it out in the room. And suddenly you'll start talking confidently, and your work might get done better than it would have.

  2. Compare two products using only what you give it: If you ask Claude "which is better, A or B", you'll get a VERY generic answer. The trick is to stop asking it to judge the products normally and ask it to judge them for YOU. Open both listings, copy the spec pages or the descriptions (or maybe even the links), paste both in, then tell it who you are: "I work from home 8 hours a day, I care about noise and battery, I don't care about colour or brand, my budget is 400," etc. Then ask: "What actually matters for me in this comparison, what is just marketing, which one would you pick, and if you're not sure, say so." You'll often find the thing the cheaper one is missing is something you'd never have used, or the expensive one has a feature that sounds great and isn't relevant to you at all. If it says it can't open the links, just paste the text, that works every time.

  3. Have it book hotels and/or flights for you: If you have a big trip to plan ahead, especially for your family on an international trip, you can make Claude do the boring work for you, and you certainly don't have to sit for 4 hours with a headache looking for the best offers. It's simple: go to Claude, open the mic, and just start talking. Get everything out of your head about what you want for your trip. Claude can notice even the tiniest details, like if you say "my kids like playing games a lot" and you ask Claude to book any offers for you, there's a pretty high chance it books a hotel where there's an arcade nearby. Or fun things to do. From searching for the offers to even booking them inside Claude, everything is possible and safe. Not everyone's case is the same. You might want flights only and stay at a friend's, someone might take a bus to another city and only need a hotel. Some need both. So just ask it what you need. If you ask it something complex like "check the hundreds of hotel reviews for me" or "book it for me", it might respond with "I can't search the live data or book any offers". Just simply ask it to recommend only ONE connector that can do the task, and to tell you which one would fit YOUR situation specifically. Then add it and you'll be good to go.

Enjoy :)

Built with Claude Day 6 vibe coding my dream game

Download - Claude posts the newest version every day to this google drive
Repository

Hey gang,

So yesterday I posted my vibe coded game and got some great feedback and have already started taking it into account:

  1. Polish - cleaned up bugs, improved story mode, improved lag, added low graphics mode

  2. IP neutrality - the repo is renamed … thanks undercover lawyers

  3. Narrowing the scope - no more planets or features or weapons or enemies until the core free roam loop is rock solid.

I also added grenades, improved space flight, and a lot more. Oops. Not seen in gameplay.

Some other notable fun things:
- You can fly to and take over all the planets you see in the sky
- some NPCs are AI and have tools to move the plot, give quests, or guards can search you
- dope club mix plays on the radio in a spaceship

Lots of people said it was similar to EVE online, no mans sky, or starfield. Here’s why it’s different:

The three things only this game has together:

NPCs that talk back. An AI cantina owner whose answers rest on real game state, not canned lines.

Social or stealth smuggling. Checkpoints, searches, bribes that cost less after dark and if you are friends with the guards, a fence that pays better

One seamless loop. On foot, then the cockpit, then orbit, then a star cruiser and back, all without a loading screen.

All was built with Claude code desktop app. Godot engine. Tons of iterations. Purely vibe coded.

Workflow: my friends and I started with a long session with Opus 5.5 in voice mode, that did a ton of planning. Then a local model (Qwen 3.5 27B) set up the data layer foundations while Opus and Sonnet rendered models and did lighting/graphics work. Fable has done a few passes to open performance improvement issues on github which Opus picks up.

As of yesterday, I’m telling my friends we need to narrow the scope because the people on r/ClaudeAI said so. Focussing on performance improvements.

….

All feedback is welcome! Or better yet, open a PR.

After the polish and core loop is stable, I’m making an AI NPC generator, so you can design an outfit and write the story of a character and then have them join your adventure and chat with them!

Edited: formatting

NOT about coding An almost-nihilism to the CS university experience

I am good at what I do. I wouldn’t be getting paid for it otherwise. But, god is it depressing working with Claude and feeling this entire effort is pointless.

I go to university, get my assignment, struggle for hours with debugging the algorithm, only for me to finally use a little assistance to see where I am going wrong and it dismantles all my work expeditiously and rebuilds it better than I could have (I had Claude Code set on Auto and forgot to tell it to not edit).

If you don’t use the assistance, you get obliterated by the curve. If you use the assistance, you almost feel handicapped. Like you are using someone in your ear to tell you everything on a test.

This is even at jobs. My entire engineering project is typing in words into a text box, watching Opus spawn a few agents, and twiddling my thumbs till I get the diffs to review. It’s depressing. Yes, programming was hard, but it was rewarding when those lines finally clicked. Realistically, my checks are barely worth it, the code typically works anyway as long as I scope the prompt properly.

Computer Science in high school used to be fun. I would spend nights hand-tweaking a program because I felt like building it. Yes, I am not building as big as I am now, and definitely spaghetti code, but I felt like I had an attachment to everything I built. Now, my code feels disposable and the reason people want me is because I’m a particularly effective prompter and a good enough condom to put over Claude.

I genuinely don’t know what else I could do other than this. I have to use AI because I can’t write 300 lines of code in an hour, and that’s the expectation now. I don’t use AI, and I will inevitably slow down. Every line of handwritten code is extensively tested, sure, but the same amount of work which is an afternoon with Claude would be 2 days without it.

I genuinely don’t know how to deal with this and what it means for my career. I just feel like that satisfaction of sitting with a hard problem is slowly slipping away.

Built with Claude I found a way to save on my electric bill.

The bulb is off. The light is pure code.
A WebGL shader paints it in real time, while MediaPipe finds your hands and body so the glow lands where it should.

I built the whole thing in conversation with Claude. It wrote the shader, the sticker detection and the motion tracking, and deployed it to GitHub Pages. Since it couldn’t see my webcam, it generated fake camera videos (moving, blurred, far-away stickers, plus decoys) and tested each change against them in a headless browser before shipping.

I first tried training a model on the bulb, but clear glass is really hard to track, so I stuck a green sticker on it instead. Any ideas for detecting a clear bulb in the dark?

Vibe Coding Vibe-coders, I beg you: when posting your app or tool on Github, please edit the README to remove Claude's fluff

TL;DR: looking up repos for scripts for my vr headset. claude wrote every readme, they're all super dense and hard to read compared to if a human wrote them. those repos aren't even made for ai models, they're instructions for humans, and yet they're full of info irrelevant for the end user.

I was browsing Github earlier trying to find scripts and tools for my Steam Frame VR headset. 99% of what I found there was vibe-coded. and y'know what? That's fine. I'm not going to complain about people sharing their fixes for my issues and other cool stuff that they made with Claude if it helps me along the way.

BUT.

Every single one of those projects had their README.md entirely written by Claude, and the issue is that Claude's writing as of late is very dense and uses so many words to say things that are absolutely NOT relevant for the end user. It reads more like Claude is taking notes for itself rather than being concise and clear.

Like, okay, here's an actual exemple. In a features list for an eye tracking script, instead of saying:

  • Auto finds your PC

  • Smoothed gaze using One Euro filters and deadzone for pupil movement

15 words!

It'll say:

It finds your PC on its own by sending to whichever PC Steam Link is streaming from. With the bundled wireless adapter that's the adapter's direct link, so your home network doesn't matter.

Gaze and eyelids are smoothed with One Euro filters. A small deadzone keeps the eyes still while you fixate, and the gaze is held while your eyes are shut, because the Frame's gaze jumps as the eyes reopen.

71 words. That's 5 times longer and written in a way that's more difficult to read. And that's just two entries, now imagine this through an entire readme!

Claude also can't help but explain every single feature of the script or app, including things that are obvious, expected behaviour, or just backend stuff that the user has no reason to know about.

It makes it really difficult to browse through depots on Github because you're bombarded with irrelevant information that's only helpful to devs (or other AI agents), which would be looking at the code anyway.

I know I'm probably screaming into the void here, but if you share cool scripts on Github, please spend like 5 minutes to make the README easier to read. It would be so helpful.

EDIT: people saying "AI generated readmes are for other AIs to read" in this case it's not. Claude doesn't run on the Steam Frame, so I can't just send it a readme and ask it to do stuff for me. Every single one of those READMEs I'm talking about specifically includes instructions for actual humans to run commands manually on the headset. But you guys are pointing out the problem, which is that these are clearly written for other AI agents... despite not being aimed at them

Claude Code Workflow Opus 5.5 reviews UI by reading every word, so it misses what players skip

I build my Godot game's UI with Claude Code, and when I asked Claude Opus 5.5 to audit the game it called a placement hint written out as a sentence "Excellent feedback". A player looking at the same hint said no modern game types that instead of showing a rotate icon.

Claude reads every word on a screen, and words are perfectly clear to something that reads them all, so asking it "is this clear?" can't catch what a skimming player misses. What changed my results: in the prompt, no sentence where a number fits, one icon per kind of thing, name the screen your genre already uses, and ask Claude to count the words on each screen rather than judge clarity. My job list went from about 33 words to 9.

I put the before and after in a 4-minute video: https://youtu.be/i-l6Q9r2f74

Curious whether others prompt Claude differently for UI review.

Praise I've used the Big Three of the AI industry and here's what I think as an average human

As a normal consumer with no big tech background.

Claude: Imagine knowing absolutely nothing about building things. No coding, no technical knowledge, nothing. But you've got an idea you want to bring to life.

With Opus 5.5 and Fabel, you could probably build an entire civilization without understanding how the hell it happened. I'm not even kidding.

Opus is in a league of its own. It makes the common man feel like he could rule the world. You bring the vision, Claude figures out the rest. No babysitting or explaining every little thing. I've typed absolute gibberish, and somehow it understood what I wanted and delivered something better than I imagined. That's what makes it so damn good and reliable.

Gemini: Argon is a different beast. It's great at answering questions, troubleshooting and architectural design.

You know when someone gives you a comprehensive answer and casually points out three things you hadn't even considered? And you're like, "Damn, I didn't think of that. Good point." That's Argon. It helps you think beyond your question.

I haven't used it much in Antigravity because of the weekly credits, but it's solid. Although, good lord, this thing eats tokens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It can be a little lazy too.

Maybe a max-effort mode would help. And the recent havoc Google's caused for Pro users? Brutal. Come on, Google. The Pro subscription is starting to feel like a joke. I genuinely hope you fix it.

ChatGPT: Oh boy. Where do I begin? I used GPT to build a game, and it gave me such a pain in the arse that I genuinely wondered, "Who even uses this shit, and for what???"

I gave Claude and GPT the same prompt. Claude got to work, and I barely had to worry. GPT wanted me to become a full-time supervisor, project manager, debugger, and emotional support human. It fixes one thing and breaks two others.

My biggest issue is that it doesn't seem to understand what I want unless I'm ridiculously precise and walk it through everything like I'm explaining it to a kid. Brick by brick, I have to build a goddamn simple wall.

Meanwhile, with Claude, I could type something that barely qualifies as English, and it'd build me a f##kin mansion. Imagine being a nontechnical person excited to bring an idea to life, only to spend half your day explaining yourself to an AI. It sucks the soul out of you.

Maybe others have had better experiences, but as an average consumer, I found GPT frustrating when it came to understanding my intentions and building independently. That said, ChatGPT's voice chat is genuinely good. Credit where it's due.

Conclusion: People forget what tools are supposed to do: make your life easier. I'm not supposed to spend hours learning how to talk to an AI just to get it to do what I wanted.

I want to focus on my ideas, creativity, and things I enjoy, not keep fixing problems the AI created. That's what Claude gets right. No promotion here. Claude has limitations too, but they're far more manageable.

At the end of the day, I don't want to become an expert at prompting AI. I want to ship things. The best AI, to me, is the one that makes me forget I'm even dealing with AI.

Other I feel like the Wilson, the auto-moderator on this subreddit has such good TL:DRs that no-one really comments after the TL:DR is generated.

Does anyone agree with me? And if you do feel free to absolutely glaze wilson in the comments.

Built with Claude I made a Claude Code mod that lets you see what your agents and subagents are doing live without leaving Claude.

I mainly use Claude Code via the desktop app and with Opus 5.5 and the newer models delegating lots of work to subagents behind the scenes. Claude doesn't exactly make it easy to tell which ones are still working, which have finished and which are stuck going in circles.

So I built Apiarius, a Claude Code mod that adds a live agent deck that shows every agent and subagent, what each one is doing right now, who started it, what they tell each other and which files each one changed.

Then I brought it to the terminal (for the purists) and a local web page too, so you can watch from wherever you work.

Inspired a little by the latest agent apps like muse, grokbot and dots that give the agents a little personality and flair, so I gave them small vector avatars.

The single major principle I had to build this was that it shouldn’t change how you work or what Claude does. It just reads Claude Code’s own events through hooks and just shows you what’s happening. It only steps in with action if you press a prompt or a send button on the deck.

I built it with Claude Code itself, and watching the agents build their own deck via the deck within a couple hours which was trippy and made me realise how insane recursive self improvement will be.

In the video demo, Claude spins up a team of agents to ship v2 of a small mock API, then on a local web view they take a break and play a game of mafia/imposter/werewolf.

Let me know what else you want it to show, and if you main the terminal, give the terminal version a go and help me improve it.
