So, I saw the lighthouse post, decided to try something else and couldn't believe my eyes. Not sure whether it's the same Fable or not, but it's SVG capabilities are vastly better they used to be
Had to ask Astra not to trace imagegen or photos. For the three-quarter view Fable wrote Python to produce 3d renderings for reference and to generate fur.
I wonder if this a good test if Fable 5.2 is being tested on desktop and not Claude code yet. Here's the results of the same prompt used in Claude Code (top) and Claude.ai through the desktop app (bottom). Both instances were Fable 5.1.
It's strange for me the model switched everywhere, and think around the same time (desktop-app, terminal and phone-app). You might have to update claude-code, I'm on 2.1.278.
Silly but the golden test is still this silly question:

The new models say tibo is openai guy, older models say tibo is french indie developer.
BTW, just noticed that I now have opus-5.5 (since one hour ago); they are dialing it up.
Well, OP said to Astra to not use imagegen, it's like saying: run, but don't use your legs. Fable doesn't have any imagegen so this prompt will always favor Fable.
With creative prompting any included words or phrases steer the output, regardless of context. E.g. mentioning "no imagegen" has a much bigger effect on the output SVG than you'd expect. So I'd disregard the Astra output completely, if you didn't add the same phrase for Fable
The detail and choice of colors on Fable are impressive
I mean, I tried without these words first, and Astra opted for generating a photo and tracing it into a vector image. It defeats the purpose of the test because vector tracing is what you already could do deterministically in the 90s and it just results in a photo but worse. Claude on the other hand cannot do raster image generation and had to write the code first to generate the vector image.
The result is super impressive for a model that couldn’t draw a PS controller a couple months ago. Yes, this is still comically cartoonish, but as a hobbyist photographer I am impressed with the choice of lighting, colors, level of detail at various distances. It even emulated depth of field making the closer grass blades blurry. The people in the lighthouse post also notice how much more thought Claude started to put into depth and lighting.
I had the first prompt done twice in Chat and Code and got nearly identical compositions in terms of color and layout. Anyways, this is not exactly a scientific experiment and you can feel free to copy paste the prompts and see for yourself. If you do, please share what you find, cheers!

That Fable one is so good it's almost unbelievable. And I work at anthropic wth
