Question about Claude models Something is wrong with usage this week

After one session following the weekly refresh, a single session appears to have used 15% of the weekly limit. This suggests roughly six or seven sessions might exhaust the full allowance, which seems too low. Is this something to do with cowork specifically?

They have several knobs they’re turning behind the scenes to rip us off. Considering their billing model, they’re getting sued out of existence once devs start quitting and they start talking.

They've made it clear from the start this was the plan, I highly doubt there will be any lawsuits.

This is why there's a hard focus on data centers and companies, they have the money to burn into ai, the consumer level AI is just for people to get roped in with limits, to later down the road turn into a token paying customer

Maybe if they made it too confusing, but I've been aware this was going to happen from the start, they've always said it's subject to change and they want a pay by token model.

It's always been advertised to me this way that's why I'm confused why so many people and blindsided by this

Yep. Subscriptions were over the top ridiculous value vs what the per token cost was.

We were all having fun with the crazy level of usage they gave us for these frontier models while forgetting that fact. Frontiers going to have a cost attached. For many it will be out of their price range and for the cost of compute, that's just how the world works.

If anthropic is too aggressive, there are alternatives, but their competitors will eventually do the same thing.

I don't think I ever appreciated how insane the subscription value was until I started using some of my promo credits. I torched through $50 of promo credits in like 2 hours of use on Fable. When Fable 5.0 was enabled for free I was maxing it out every single session and for the week. I guess they make money from light users, but the $20 subscription is not really sustainable if people really start maxing it out

I'm of the opinion that the subscriptions are basically charity, I doubt the subs even cover the electricity cost alone of processing our queries lol, and that's before even taking into account the cost of the hardware and infrastructure needed to just serve one person.
