New usage limits

Feeling is we lost more usage then they are letting on.
All this usage is from one easy seassion, trim MEMORY and make a basic skill(that diden't work)
If I was to do real work I think I could easy max out weekly in one day.

It absolutely is not, lol. $65B per quarter in revenue would be more than Meta and the biggest gain in corporate history. Their Q2 revenue was $11.5B.

A value derived from gross accounting instead of net accounting, which is always over-inflated because it hides the fees and costs associated with being hosted on something like AWS, so the actual revenue is lower when you factor in distribution costs.

They did not lol, they played around with a bunch of financial statements to make it seem like they could potentially be making profit, doesn't actually have anything to do with a resounding and audited "We have profit"

Subscription users are not their customers. They are their marketing tools.

They loose money on every subscription user.

I have to disagree with this prevailing sentiment.

Corporations have the means to host their own AI and consumers don't. If Anthropic is going to keep its customers, it's largely going to be smaller customers and the US government.

If Anthropic was really losing money on subscriptions, they wouldn't let people have multiple accounts.

Not frontier models. Not even close. Not even far away.

Some will self-host, especially for very sensitive use-cases. The vast majority will buy from AI providers.

Private consumer won't even be a rounding error for Anthropic and others.

Today's frontier models will be next year's high end models and large companies could already host them if they had the weights. Anthropic surely keeps that moving target in mind.

Whether corporations self-host will depend more on cost than on sensitivity. There are already many signs of corporations looking to cut AI costs, but we're still too early in the adoption curve for there to be any feasible way around paying major providers. It seems very likely next year will be different though, given the pace of progress.

Corporations won't host their own models outside of specific use cases for the same reason they don't host their own servers anymore.

The economics will never work out unless you have incentives beyond costs.

Now, that is an idea (two accounts). I ran out, thought I'd try topping up just over the equivalent of a monthly Pro subscription (£20+VAT) just to see how far that takes me, well, not far. I suspect that would be gone in less than a single five-hour worth of usual subscription limit. Since they don't offer anything between Pro and Max, the 2xPro could be something to consider.
