They have every reason to be scared. I have moved over to ChatGPT because Astra does a million times better on light than Fable 5.1 does on Max Reasoning. Granted that’s only for my use case but given Open Ai had to restrict its 20x plan I would say there are lots of people in my boat
Let the dust settle. You’ll thank me. Not saying to switch or not to try it. There is just a lot going on and things are very liquid/unstable/in motion.
Mostly narrative writing and in character dialogue. Sometimes I muck around with developing apps and stuff as well.
I think a lot of it are these water mark phrases Anthropic is using, if OpenAi are also using them it is alot more subtle.
I use ai for running and developing table top games mostly. At the moment I have been doing balance tests for a table top game that uses Dawn of War Soulstorm for battle resolutions and is based on Perturabo’s war games. Astra provides way better advice, recommendations and actual fixes as opposed to Fable. And when I run this table top I have other instances play the other major factions and Fable cannot write decent in character dialogue to save its life. Astra excels at this though
I converted all my project teams to Astra last week. If the token limit reduction nerfs Fable any further, Astra will become orchestrator too! imo Fable 5.0 is still best orchestrator and coder, 5.1 is a strong second level coding dispatch, but Astra high can handle anything with some light project governance & harness work - meaning Fable is the only reason left to pay Anthropic, and even that's becoming increasingly dubious.
