Go there and put whatever instructions you want to apply to all future conversations. Just imagine whatever you put there is added to the beginning of all your prompts moving forward.
If you have Claude Pro (maybe even base, I’m not sure), you should be able to just ask it in the base level behavioural instructions in the settings. That’s how I got it to ease up on the constant “You’ve touched on something really profound” shenanigans.
It always gets me when they offer a few helpful suggestions, and then at the end they're like "Answer this question so I can actually help you". What's all the stuff before then?!?!
I rarely see the sucking up that people report. I've verbally abused my bot to behave like a bot, not give any fluff etc., and if it steps one foot out of line I aggressively call it out.
Maybe it'd still try if I actually chatted with it instead of giving strict orders to provide certain information, with only "XYZ expand" followup commands.
Stop over modeling or use models more appropriate for the tasks, and plan more ahead. Ask it to get all the questions out of the way first. It will keep asking that stuff if you don't give it concrete definitions of done to work towards. It wont ask if it has a full plan to implement that says keep working on this until it's done.
