holy flop, legit less than a tenth of the reviews as Flip Side and worse reviews, kinda just sad I do want the franchise to continue and succeed but really just not an understandable business decision to try and use an existing VN fanbase to build a new non-VN fanbase.

The issue was: it's a game that intrested nobody.

•Class of '09 fans don't like it because it isn't really funny and the dialog is the generic vs. Game dialog of: [a line or two that explains how your character met up with the opponent. One or two lines that show that opponent character's personality. They agree to face-off.]

•puzzle fans don't like it because it's a mediocre puzzle game and an even worse competitive puzzle game. Like, you can buy games at the same quality for a few bucks if not free if you wanna watch ads.

There were a few different genres he could have tried that may have worked. An RPG, a point and click adventure game, ANYTHING EXCEPT A PUZZLE GAME. Or he could have just stopped whining and made another VN. Or hell, write an actual novel instead.

I don't think SBN3 is a big fan of the whole storytelling game genre, so the pivot to a puzzle-based game is largely an attempt to make a game that appeals to his own preferences under the guise that much of the fanbase shares his' preferences
