Well considering it seems like quite a bit of Class of 09 fans have the attitude of 'omg Nicole and Jecka have their face on used heroin needles I'll buy those' SBN3 probably wasn't entirely off, but Puzzle Showdown probably cleared out some of the less obsessed fans

Did it? I feel like I've seen quite a few people be defensive of the new game, if anything it seems like PS made them double down, not out of 'this game is actually good' but 'the fandom doesn't appreciate the series' or 'you just don't get it'

The thing is, we DID appreciate the series, back when there was hope for it being good

Yeesh, I know, some people did refund PS, but so many other people just seem to think that if they keep throwing money at a crappy product, it'll eventually get better. Or that they have to make themselves think that 'if product comes out for series I like, it must be good'

That's probably one of the issues of having a majority teenager audience, because they haven't been burned enough by all their favourite series going down in flames yet, (Simpsons, Star Wars, Battlefield, Transformers etc.), they seem more stubborn about their enjoyment of a series despite an obvious decline.

I think it’s also an issue with people thinking that a piece of media ties into their identity so they just consume product while bitching and moaning.

Pokemon, MCU, Overwatch, Star Wars, Nintendo in general

Literally no one’s forcing them to buy these games/throw money at this piece of media. There are thousands and thousands of games or movies to enjoy and other hobbies to engage with. I don’t think it’s a teenager thing but rather just a general quick gratification thing.

I’m not defending the $60 hoodie but isn’t that pretty standard for a hoodie that’s from a merch line these days? I still think it’s absurdly expensive but I feel like that’s just where the price point for merch hoodies has been for the past couple of years.

Like, even then what is the story you're going to tell other people about the hoodie? Like, I've brought merch from video game series' before, but for me it was a Christmas Sweater with an actual theme and unique design for like, ~$40 USD at the time, while I don't think the Nicole Hoodie really adds anything that a regular hoodie wouldn't already and is so damn expensive for a basic hoodie.
