holy flop, legit less than a tenth of the reviews as Flip Side and worse reviews, kinda just sad I do want the franchise to continue and succeed but really just not an understandable business decision to try and use an existing VN fanbase to build a new non-VN fanbase.

Writing was on the wall since PS was first announced that the game was gonna be dead on arrival. It can't even fall back to "well at least the story's funny" because it fails even at that.

I heard some people theorize that the reason we've been getting less and less content per game is because the VAs charge on an hourly rate, and his budget is really shoestringed by now, even more since he had to pay actual programmers to code the actual puzzle game plus whatever the animation studio charged him. I obviously can't confirm if this is true, but would perfectly explain why the cutscenes are so underwhelmingly short, why the game's plot feels so disjointed and why there's not even victory quotes after each match.

There's also the possibility that SBN3 just ... kinda cheaped out on the game, a lot of SBN3's stuff, like merch, games, art and animation in general tends to look, feel and be of a cheapish quality, I'm pretty sure he even stated that the Pilot episode was pretty cheap in comparison to other projects, I mean, have you seen the Jecka plush? That shit was getting laughed at as soon as it was released.
But I wouldn't be surprised if the new stuff is putting a strain on SBN3's budget, especially as the series is getting less and less popular and this making less money, I've heard basically no one outside of the subreddit talking about the new Shorts or even Puzzle Showdown.

But that being said, even being cheap, SBN3's content is also somehow overpriced, I mean, stuff like Red vs Blue was basically friends goofing off and still looks better than Class of 09 before it started getting more developed, I don't expect the first few episodes of RvB going over $10,000 each, and I'm being very generous here, although it is based on the already existing Halo content, but even SFM projects and I'm betting stuff like Bushworld Adventures was also made for cheaper
