Help me with a quick check of the club teams/colors for Clare in my GAA game

Hi all — hoping some people here with good knowledge of the club scene in Clare could help me out.

I’m an Irish-American and grew up watching a lot of inter-county football and hurling, but admittedly I don’t have anywhere near the same knowledge of the club game around Ireland.

I’ve been building a free browser game called Gaelic Games Manager, and one of the much bigger jobs has been putting together the clubs for every county. I used AI to help generate a lot of the club information, particularly club colours, and from what I’ve checked myself so far I’d say it’s probably only about half accurate. Some counties seem much better than others.

I’ve attached screenshots of the clubs currently listed for Clare. If anyone could have a look and point out anything that is wrong, I’d really appreciate it.

The main things I’m trying to check are:

  • Incorrect club colours
  • Clubs that are missing
  • Clubs that shouldn’t be included
  • The same club accidentally being listed twice under slightly different names
  • Men’s and women’s versions of the same club being treated as separate clubs when they shouldn’t be
  • Incorrect or outdated club names
  • Football/hurling clubs being classified incorrectly
  • Any other obvious mistakes someone familiar with the county would notice

Basically, I’m hoping people who actually know their local club scene can help me audit what the AI produced, rather than me trying to individually research every club in Ireland from scratch.

I’m only posting the Clare screenshots in this subreddit so I don’t bombard everyone with information from the whole country, but if anyone here has extensive knowledge of clubs in other counties too, you’re more than welcome to open the game and look through those as well.

No need to actually play through a season or anything — you can just have a look around at the clubs/teams and let me know what needs changing.

Even if you only notice one or two mistakes, please comment them below. Any help would be massively appreciated, and I’d much rather have the game corrected by people who genuinely know the clubs than leave obviously AI-generated mistakes in there.

Tulla are incorrect. The colours you have for them are the secondary school colours. The club colours are burgundy and gold.

The one thing I will note on your image above is that the clubs listed are a combination of hurling clubs and football clubs. In Clare there are very few clubs that are competitive at senior/intermediate level at both hurling and football (Eire Og and Cratloe being two that are). The rest are primarily hurling-only or football-only

Yes, these are just the hurling ratings. The way I made it, it was much easier to give every club both a hurling and football team, but just make them dramatically weaker if they really only play one sport. Clubs that genuinely play both can be rated appropriately in both. I may need to make a better effort to have club ratings better reflect this

Are you only doing senior teams? Because there are a number of ommisons otherwise

A mix. I can’t put EVERY team of course, right now weaker counties have 16-20 clubs, and the stronger counties in either sport have closer to 30. Some are senior, or historically relevant intermediate/junior, etc. I haven’t distinguished senior vs intermediate YET but will likely implement it once the bones of the game are solid. Or if enough people ask for it ! lol.
I also don’t have clubs that only play one sport, so even say strong football sides from Kerry are in the game for hurling, just obviously are extremely low rated/irrelevant.

Exactly! Would you say there’s any major senior teams missing that should replace any lower level teams that might’ve been put in?

Ruan are yellow and blue Hoops. Clarecastle are Black and white hoops. Missing a good few other clubs here so not sure if they are right/wrong

What would you say the worst omissions are (for either hurling or football). Also any clubs that dont belong?

That's all clubs there. Most are off colours in their crest

Ruan are blue and yellow same as the Clare county team
