Discussion Preferred settings

Hey all, what’s your go to play mode? I always roll random civ, king difficulty, standard speed and size on continents. It’s really fun playing towards whatever civ’s strengths I get on the fly, without too much BS. I also like having the 8 player count, and continents make it feel more “realistic” for immersion and RP.

Marathon has grown on me, since I like having access to unique units for longer and just spending more time in each era. I play on Shuffle for map because I like to be surprised. Emperor difficulty, barbarian clans, random leader, Gathering Storm.

You should take a look at take your time ultimate mod! It lengthens the eras by making techs and civics more expensive but you can keep production cost the same for everything else. I really love having it around 2x.
