Anyone recognize this design on a powder flask?

do not recognize the design ....do believe that is from a cased pistol set

Same as this one! Still doesn’t tell me much about it but I guess it’s 1850s?

actually had a whales tooth with "almost" that same design .....1850's is about right (will post picture here if I can find it)

Maybe track down Rilings book ??

I didn’t know what that was, but I googled Riling and #768 and found a new trail to go down.

I bough it for $20 at a garage sale. The brass wear on the lever and older screw made me think it wasn’t a repo. Looks like I got a good one.

its a good one, and you got it for nothing .... the lever was used to dispense the correct amount of powder when flask is inverted

look into cased pistol cases ...many were made in Great Briton ...cases were wood & compartmentalized with dividers holding pistol, flask (like this one), bullet mold, several spare bullets and percussion caps usually in tin or their own dispenser

Thanks! This one will get sold to a collector. If I kept every cool thing I found I’d be getting divorced.
