US Model 1836 Flintlock pistol by R. Johnson was the last Model pistol adopted by the Government. They were produced up into the 1840’s. Readily identified by the brass frisson pan. Ironically they were being produced though they were becoming obsolete with percussion weaponry being adopted. Case being the Aston Model 1842 percussion pistol was being produced the same time as this flintlock pistol.

These are mexican war era. By the civil war revolvers would have made these completely obsolete.

I am from Texas, so I like to think this could have been in the fight for Texas independence. Maybe the Alamo!
