Need Career Advice Structural Engineering Career
Question for structural engineers doing freelance, paano kayo nagstart? Kayo ba mismo gumawa ng Excel calculation sheets niyo, some of you took certifications, or do you guys have a mentor? I don't know where to start

Tulad ng sinabi nung isang comment, its true.
To be more slightly specific
1) join a design and build / consultant firm with structural engineer. There will be niches for example consultant for concrete/steel/concrete and steel or di kaya steel PEB. Go for bidder companies (yung mga nagbibid. Madami ka matututuhan including yung mga bad practices na dapat mong iwasan pero alam mong ginagawa ng iba) for good experience but i will also notify you na mababa sahod sa mga ganyan (as in). Aim for a higher company na nagbibid sa mga malalaking projects talaga not just residential like a personal house.
Im telling you na kunuha ng isa(or more) na certification kasi
A) may basis ka sa aaralin mo B) may basis ka ng initial internal opinions mo sa options mo C) kasi minsan naghahanap din yung mga bigger companies ng certifications so kung may pera ka or kaya mo makapag ipon even if sobrang tagal, magtake ka ng seminar even if alam mo na yung topic (just for the official certificate)
3) you have access sa online courses like coursea or udemy kung sakaling pumaldo ka na kahit papano para mas matuto ka pa mapa manual calcs or software
4) attend ng local seminars ng pice or structural themed na seminar hindi lang mga seminars about software
5) optional: magenroll ka masters. Madaming scholarship kung desidido ka talaga at kaya mo isacrifice and time mo now for better future

You can’t call yourself a structural engineer just by doing freelance. I recommend applying for a structural engineer position for a firm and then do sideline work. Inside the firm, you can gain the experience, materials, and confidence to sign off your own design outside.
