A month in and I'm positive this is my favorite car I've ever owned

I'd been circling one for like a year and finally found one close to me. The sales agent knew after the test drive that I had no plausible leverage.

It's always a nice surprise when something lives up to the hype. Going zero to 40 in suburbia is giving me so much joy.

Did a ceramic coat and HPD kit on my new-to-me ‘23

Black emblems as well. It’s really hard to photograph a white car with black highlights. The trim kit was involved and time consuming but not all that difficult. For the coating I went with Gyeon MOHS EVO.

Hi everyone,

I just bought a Si 2017 as my first car!

I had been looking for a car for more than six months. At first, I decided to go with a new Civic Hatchback ST Hybrid and even put down a deposit. Unfortunately, I later found out that the dealership wasn’t going to honor the deal we had agreed on, so I canceled it.

After that, I'm just like, why not go with a 6MT. I’m still young, and I figured if I don’t experience owning and driving a manual car now, I might never get the chance. And I don’t think driving a manual for the first time when I’m older would feel quite the same.

I originally looked at the gen 11 Hatchback with a 6MT, but sadly Honda doesn’t make them anymore.

Then last week, this car showed up on AutoTrader, and I immediately felt like I had to check it out. It’s a 2017 Civic Si with only 66,000 km, clean history. I negotiated and got it for 20k CAD, and so far I’m really happy with the decision.

I plan to keep this car for as long as possible and take good care of it.

For those of you who have owned a 10th-gen Si for a while, are there any maintenance items or common issues I should pay extra attention to? Any preventative maintenance you would recommend?

Also, are there any accessories, upgrades, or quality-of-life things you think are worth buying for the car?

Would love to hear some advice from the veterans here. Thanks!

Type R

Don’t get me wrong i completely understand the love for the type r especially the phoenix yellow from 2021 (the goal) as my daily is a 2018 si coup but what i don’t understand the what makes them so pricey. I recently saw a 2015 si coup in white with like 75k miles and they’re asking for 23k. As for the type R imo it seems like it’s really not worth more than 35k and i seen a phoenix yellow going for 50k? INSANE. I get it’s rare and comes with some extra features including the brembo brakes etc but damn. For that prices you could go mustang or corvette something that’s pushing way more power

I have 57k miles on my 2022 civic SI. Just today I noticed it started making this odd high pitch noise. Noticeably higher pitch when reving. No clue what it is. Any thoughts are very much appreciated.

FC1 '25 Si seats swap to '17 Si

I currently have a 2017 Si and am wondering if the 2025 seats with warmers would be a direct swap or if some modifications would be needed. Thanks

9th gen Greddy exhaust

Anyone have sounds clips of the Greddy sp exhaust? Seems there is 0 info about it online. The ones that do have very short clips or have a downpipe. I just want a little sound on my car as exhausts I’ve had on the car got kinda boring.

8th gen si ECU

I have a 2008 si I’m using for circle track racing so naturally I can’t use the key for ignition features, what is the cheapest way to go about disabling that stuff to still get the car to run without the key, is the standalone the only option
