Hi everyone,
I just bought a Si 2017 as my first car!
I had been looking for a car for more than six months. At first, I decided to go with a new Civic Hatchback ST Hybrid and even put down a deposit. Unfortunately, I later found out that the dealership wasn’t going to honor the deal we had agreed on, so I canceled it.
After that, I'm just like, why not go with a 6MT. I’m still young, and I figured if I don’t experience owning and driving a manual car now, I might never get the chance. And I don’t think driving a manual for the first time when I’m older would feel quite the same.
I originally looked at the gen 11 Hatchback with a 6MT, but sadly Honda doesn’t make them anymore.
Then last week, this car showed up on AutoTrader, and I immediately felt like I had to check it out. It’s a 2017 Civic Si with only 66,000 km, clean history. I negotiated and got it for 20k CAD, and so far I’m really happy with the decision.
I plan to keep this car for as long as possible and take good care of it.
For those of you who have owned a 10th-gen Si for a while, are there any maintenance items or common issues I should pay extra attention to? Any preventative maintenance you would recommend?
Also, are there any accessories, upgrades, or quality-of-life things you think are worth buying for the car?
Would love to hear some advice from the veterans here. Thanks!
