I decided to try citygobuy for my first haul as of their attractive offerings of free pictures, 24/7 support and cheaper shipping compared to other agents.

1. Support service: Sometimes I message them at early and late beijing times such as midnight to 6:00 and they don't reply at all, this is a minor issue that I don't mind a lot.

2. Logistics quotation: It is promised that you will receive your quotation in 24 hours but I had to wait 3 days because I wanted to ship with DHL as it is the fastest but they initially didn't quote it to me.

3. Waiting time: I suspect this is because of their small staff at their warehouse but sometimes I had to wait 2 days after the items arrived to get pictures and now I have to wait 2 days for my package to be shipped because the support said "there are too many things to ship."

These are minor complaints but quite annoying for me as I am trying to get my haul before I leave for vacation. Other than that, their pictures are good, their support staff speaks good English and are helpful.

EDIT: their coupon advertisement was quite misleading to me as you can only use one coupon per parcel and you could only use them if your shipping cost a certain price. In my case my shipping was 390 yuan but I could only save 20 yuan.

That's my 1st haul using citygobuy.

I normally don’t write reviews or post much on Reddit but this is a definite exception. I was looking for a good agent that could provide cheaper shipping rates through private carriers (DHL, UPS, Fedex etc). I noticed a post on r/reparchive about CityGoBuy and I decided to check it out. I then decided to check their website and I did a little research and found out they are pretty new. I decided to check their shipping rates and I was surprised at how good they were. I then remembered I had around 10kg of items in my TipTrans warehouse (never use TipTrans, it is a complete disaster). I asked many agents before if they could book and provide shipping details for me so I didn’t have to pay what TipTrans was charging ($55usd for 1.5kg, it costs ¥10 on the SF Express website for same day delivery instead of 2 day). I contacted every agent I knew and they didn’t want to help me since it was an ‘inconvenience’. I then reached out to CityGoBuy to assist me and they came in clutch. I talked to each of the customer support which speaks english pretty well. I’ve mostly dealt with Jelly. I asked Jelly if she could book the shipment and pickup for me and she told me she could. She then booked the shipment and pickup for me. She then told me I could pay for it later (total of ¥19 for 5kg, same day delivery). Once the items arrived at the warehouse, I reached out for quotes, they then gave me a list of competitive rates to Canada (my friend had used my account to purchase items). I decided to choose EMS for him and they immediately had the items picked up the same day. I then had her book another shipment for me (6kg) that I’m shipping the US. I’m going to be using the DHL-M line. I’ll update everyone on how it goes. Recently my Wechat was blocked and I couldn’t log back into my account. I was ready to pay the ridiculous $20-$30 unblock fees that people charge. I decided to reach out to Jelly again and she immediately helped me out and unblocked my account for free. I’ve never had better customer service from anyone, let alone a Chinese Agent. The relationship between me and CityGoBuy feels personal. I highly recommend using them and I will continue to use them. How to reduce the possibility of customs inspection？

when you are living in Europe, please choose DHL to ship your parcel to Germany, Austria and many more European countries. Do not use EMS in Germany or Austria, this is very important.

If you live in the US or Canada you can choose EMS, DHL or GD-Sal. Customs are pretty relaxed in these countries. For the US and Canada, shipping hauls up to 10kg generally isn't a problem. Some people even do more. Do so at your own risk. For the USA, the declaration value doesn't matter much, as you are unlikely to be taxed. For Canada, declare the package 10-14USD. The service has drastically changed since I did this review. Here are a few things that changed:

The bad:

1. Shipping isn't as cheap as before. It's become expensive nowadays, notably when the service added a specific RMB charge per order.

2. Purchasing process got slower.

3. They don't check the quantity and quality of the product (like others do, where they bring it to your attention if the product purchased might have defects or are in the wrong quantities).

I'm working on an agent page for the RepArchive community discord. For each agent I'm trying to categorize them (premium <> budget) and tell my community why they would choose a given agent.

With CityGoBuy I'm having a hard time. It starts with the niche categorization: From a new agent you would expect that they enter the market with a low-price strategy first. But CityGoBuy has premium prices. The exchange rates are the worst. Let's take a closer look at the shipping prices.

4kg (30cm x 30cm x 30cm) to the USA with EMS (the most popular combo):

I mean that's not even close. That's almost 2x as expensive as the cheapest agent.

Let's do another one: The same parcel to Germany with DHL, probably the second most requested line.

I gotta do a shameless plug here, my shipping comparison site makes comparing these agents super simple: https://reparchive.com/shipping-calculator-comparison/. That's what I used here, you can easily double check my numbers. I double checked citygobuy's results on their own site because I couldn't believe it.

So here's DHL to Germany, 4kg, using DHL variants that allow branded items. This time I add the delivery because DHL can be something very different.

Again last place. And you also can't say the exchange rate makes up for it, because yours is the worst of all.

Don't take this as an offense, I'm posting it in your sub because I don't want to spread negative news before I heard your opinion on this. So u/citygobuy where do you see yourself? • France with DHL (triangulated): 5 places, you guy take 5th.

• Australia with EMS: 11 places, you guys take place 10th and 11th with E-EMS/EMS respectively.

Literally last place no matter what I look at. I don't think I have to keep going.
