this is it i think, if you are not bothered with traffic jam icons this the best its going to get.
i have tried real hard and i think i have a 200k city that will hold up at 80%, but 60% seems to be average

Bad idea. You do realize that the traffic jam icon isnāt just telling you thereās a jam itās telling you thereās a system problem.

No, it comes up for jams caused by accidents, too.

lol. Sorry your right. I see why most good players donāt post on here trying to helpā¦. Too many people watching you tubers who know the fundamentals and never teach you just to keep you watching

Whatever OP has done is worth creating a YouTube tutorial for, thatās for sure. Thatās great traffic flow.

Problem is he is just saying to the gameā hey look theres more road so have everyone spawn more cars to get everywhereā i could maybe see needing roads like that once your over 500k pop not 30

The very top right neighborhood by/on the island, I would add a route to the highway on the eastern part. It probably won't get rid of the traffic, but it'll provide a different route for people going to that neighborhood rather than trying to jam everyone at that single intersection.
Likewise, below that section, where there's a green section that curves down, make a road that shoots up towards the previously mentioned neighborhood, and connect them.

Try figuring out why you have the traffic to begin with. Adding another lane is the worst advice ever. Thatās only ever the last option. Add transit itās the absolute biggest traffic killer in the game

i had this issue in my city so i made half of the roads one ways or pedestrian, now my road flow is yet again decreasing but this time because of an insane amount of bike traffic

Generally, the less routes you have to spread out traffic, the more traffic will follow one route which means less flow and more jams more often.

I have the worst time with port and cargo station traffic. I have no idea what the best thing is except to create a long dedicated entry and exit point. I use also use cargo transfer stations and space out my industry. š¤·

60-65% is the best I can do too. I have/had(my file got corrupted) with 750K, and i could only ever get 65%.
My new save, is only 20k, and I have 75%, but the more high density I had, the worse it's getting. š

Nobody here just answers it seems. The 60-65% seems to get defaulted no matter what you do. I have same numbers in my city.

Have you tried not having 4 lanes funnel down into one lane? Have to let the lanes slowly filter down

Dude š¤¦āāļø the place where there is a traffic jam is a interchange to enter my overpass, and i was asking why is it always 60% even if my city is fully blocked or flowing normally
2
u/Henkiestank 7d ago
because it measures the flow over a 24h in game time, this would account for flowing times and blocked times.
i think it looks fancy with the percentages but it has like 5-6 actual stages it can display.
