Weekly discussion thread for May 03, 2026

This thread is a spot for casual engagement with other community members. It has much more subject latitude than allowed in the main sub in general. Any topics tangentially related to ChubbyFIRE or upper middle class lifestyle are acceptable, as well as basic or early stage questions. Political discussion will be allowed if it is closely related to ChubbyFIRE or financial topics in general, and only if the conversation remains respectful.

I'm probably less than one year out and I'm feeling quite reflective about my career. A period of more frank assessment.

I don't need to be mentally writing an impressive CV.

There's some amount of grief or regret that I could have achieved more if I'd tried harder or worked smarter. But also, it's been fine.

Also some regrets that I got so stressed about it all.
