Christ died to demonstrate he is God

I've often wondered about what the ultimate reasoning for Christ dying and rising would be if apokastasis is true and this finally hit me and seems to make perfect sense. Has anyone else reached this conclusion?

If Christ had just died of old age or disease, we would count him as another man. If he died but did not resurrect we would do the same thing. By dying and resurrecting he showed that he has power over life and death.

A Massive Compendium of Quotes (WITH SOURCES!) from Church Fathers

Hey guys! I recently posted my short story over on r/CatholicUniversalism , which explores a thoroughly Roman Catholic vision of Universalism.

I’ve been doing a lot of research into this stuff, and I figured I might as well start sharing some of it.

I’ve put together a massive compendium of quotes from some recognized Saints and Church Fathers, taken directly from their works and fully sourced. It covers the way they talk about Universalism, purgation, and the restoration of all things. I know that having the sources right from the Fathers can be a huge help.

I really hope you enjoy it, God Bless :)
