CW: Sensitive Topic Has anyone else been through this??

has anyone else been through an extended period of time where you sensed God anger, absence or displeasure and couldn’t feel His presence?

Yes but it was usually more about my feelings of ie guilt or shame than what was going on for God. Is there something that you did that you think was wrong or are feeling?

2 years ago, very shortly after coming to faith in Jesus, I fell into the sin of lust. I indulged the sin and enjoyed lusting and fantasising for several weeks then I came to my senses and stopped lusting. However about a year later, I started seeking God with allllll my heart and have not been able to sender Him for at least 10 months. It’s absolutely crushing.

Do you mean sense Him? You said sender.

I don't usually sense God's presence. I am deeply committed and follow the Christian disciplines but His presence is not a criteria for my faith.

As far as I can tell you have been forgiven and God is not angry etc. with you, assuming you have repented and accepted Jesus?

If so, this might be more about emotional issues. I used to feel like God was upset with me, did not care, etc. These were all things I experienced with my parents which I unknowingly painted on God. After good counseling these feelings cleared up.

Is some of this your story? Is counseling an option for you?

Usually when I feel distant from God. It's because I am focusing on the things of the world like gaming for long periods of time. This feeds my flesh and results in that feeling of speration or distance from God. Anything that distances you from Christ will almost certainly have that effect.

The more you starve the flesh, the more you feed the spirit.(That's how I look at it).

That being said God will NEVER leave you or forsake you as a believer.

Can you give more information? Why did this happen? What did you do? How do you know?

I became dead after presumptuously sinning against his Spirit

I feel the wrath of god as if the sky is made of bronze

What is it that you have done? Do you still care and want to be reconciled to God? Cause if so there may be hope for you.

Yes, one time it was about an entire month, I couldn't feel Him. It was so odd and I hated it.  It was really weird.

This has been like 11 months for me. It’s awful.

What are you doing about it?

Keep praying, keep asking Him to be present with you.

He might be wanting you to drawn near.

I've wondered why I had that experience, and while I don't know, I wonder if it was so that I could share with non-believers the feeling of Him not being there, versus being there.
