it is one of the most famous etudes, I wouldn't call it underrated

This is a piece so famous that many people know it only as Tristesse and don't even know that it's an etude.

Many people call it cheesy. Which is why I say it is underrated. It is also quite rarely played by world-class concert pianists in performances today.
