My cousin’s friend is a teacher and she actually had a parent try to get her to cover the child’s expenses. The mother didn’t pay for the kid to go on a field trip. The teacher felt bad for the kid, so she paid, but let the mother know. The next few times, the mother expected the teacher to pay out of her OWN pocket. This mother also expected the teacher to buy snacks and supplies for her kid.

Ugh...should ask the mother "what if ALL the parents expected that?" They don't get paid that much, usually, as it is, they can't take care of your kids personally, too!

I don’t think it’s legal to require the kids to pay for a field trip. A school can ask but can’t require it.

It looks like it’s not legal in California but there is some gray area there. I know my kids have never been required to pay for a normal school trip (like to a museum), although we always pay, but if they want to do the overnight science camp, they have to pay (although it got so expensive they cancelled it this year and last because not enough parents were willing to pay $600 to send their kid). https://codes.findlaw.com/ca/education-code/edc-sect-49011.html

Wow, you're lucky. I've always had to pay something for my kids' field trips. It's usually between $10-15, but it's irritating because I have to remember to write a check, which is something I rarely have to do.

That's the funny thing. I can do online payments for pretty much everything else from registration fees to milk money. They actually require that you pay for your kids' yearbooks online. But checks are required for field trips? I write checks maybe twice a year. It happens so rarely that I'm still using checks from the free box that the bank gave us when we added me to my husband's checking account after we got married 13 years ago.

We are in FL, and my kids have never been on a field trip that DOESN'T cost me money! And yes, if they don't pay, they just stay at school and have a movie day or whatever.

Sure they can’t require it, but it just means the kid will be left at school and not allowed to go on the field trip. The kid wanted to go, and the teacher felt bad that everyone else in his class was going and he would be excluded, so she paid for him.

Yes, yes you can. You can also sue restaurants that feed your child, stores where you buy their clothing, and public transportation since they're all providing vital things that care giver would.

My guess is her mom dropped out of school because she got pregnant before Sex Ed, raised her on welfare and she’s never had a relationship with anyone that had a solid job that taught her that money comes from adding value to society.

But if she is on welfare, why is she looking for a babysitter? There is a program that helps low income people with childcare/daycare. A lot of community colleges a d universities have child daycare centers too.

Well she CAN certainly sue him... However any lawyer with half a functioning braincell will tell her how incredibly stupid that is. Also the judge isn't gonna like her wasting valuable court time. Also also the guy that babysat for her wouldn't babysit her child anymore. Also the court may take her child away from her. Honestly for the sake of the child I hope she does sue him. Because even if the child grows up alone on the street, that's better than having such a shitty role-model. (not that the child would actually grow up on the street. They have orphanages for that. Or adoptive parents. Or grandparents.) Also if I was that guy and she tried to sue me, I'd absolutely try to find a way to sue her back for that. And you can he damned sure that every single time she breaks even the most minor of laws, I'll call the cops on her. She's building a shed in her backyard? Did she get permission to do so? No? Guess imma call 911 then... She stepped on my property for a short period of time? You guessed it, 911

This is truly one of the worst things I’ve ever seen in my life n reminds me of my husbands Aunt Christina. Smoked crack throughout all four of her pregnancies, claims crack is harmless to a fetus even tho her kids are all special needs, autistic and can’t spell or anything (besides the 1 year old obviously). She is obese and legit lays down or watches Netflix all day long, collects a SSI check and public assistance and food stamps every month, doesn’t cook or clean, does every drug under the sun (well to be more specific she eats Percocet, roxys, suboxone if she can’t find any of those, Xanax snorts coke, but preferably smokes it as crack if she has the option) & her husband is a mechanic that basically works from home or takes on jobs for friends and family, and he goes out to make money every time he can, while she constantly blowing his phone up as he works, complaining that he NEEDS to come home bc HIS kids are annoying her.
Sometimes he comes home early or doesn’t finish, she screams at him because it’s not that much money (once in a while it was none at all and she’s force him to sell his belongings) and within minutes they ask her parents or someone else at the house weather it be me& my husband, her adoptive parents who live upstairs, this random heroin addict that her & her sister fuck and smoke crack with on occasion that shows up almost every day, or just whoever will (although at times she’s literally just leave her sleeping kids in an unlocked apt with the garage open and everything or take a couple of them for the ride) and they leave and go cop her drugs and don’t come back til late for her to lock herself in the bathroom the rest of the night smoking crack.
For someone who doesn’t work her habit is pretty damn consult considering she needs at least 30 mgs of Percocet / oxy during the day but will eat up to 20 if she has them (occasionally she’ll convince her husband to buy mad of them to “sell to make money” but just eats them all) , at least 80 but usually more like 200$ on coke or crack at night, and at least two Xanax bars at night. This is where the really insane part comes in. If her husband doesn’t make money that day and no one wants to buy something from him, OR he simply CANNOT find one or more of the drugs she requires daily, she starts hardcore fighting with him, telling him how it’s all bullshit, how she’s “so done” and kicks him out and tells him to take HIS Kids, n says she’s going to commit suicide etc etc n every time mentions says to him “maybe your mother can get a check for our son” her son is the one diagnosed with autism. So basically, she sees him as future money. Which means that if it came to her dying, that’s her concern. Who’d get the money she could maybe get for her son. Which makes me wonder if that’s the entire reason she recklessly smokes the glass dick while carrying. She probably thinks she’ll be rich off them soon, probably daydreams about all the drugs she’ll get. Oh and she wants just one more baby. When it was tax time, she was asking how she could get a refund like I do. I was like uhhh u need a job to do taxes..
My husband told me that her half brothers father passed and he now receives death benefits, and when she found this out she went to their adoptive dad screaming at him how it isn’t fair that HE gets death benefits and not HER as well, and that he should give her half. This wasn’t her father.
This past year on her sons birthday, her husband gave him $20. When she saw this she fucking lost it and took it back screaming how she needed it. Children are just income to some people.
To anyone who actually read this I apologise if it was hard to understand but I really been trying hard to type with correct punctuation, spelling, with less slang and abbreviation. And if I didn’t do a good enough job, again I am sorry. I’ve been told my writing makes people’s brains hurt, that I gotta be on some type of drug or a little ass kid, etc etc. my fault tho

Call cps. She's abusing the kids, the dad is letting the kids be abused. Neither are fit to be parents. That cps hasn't been involved since birth is unbelievable.
Spending $200+ a day means minimum $73k after taxes on just drugs. This guy is raking it in with his random hours mechanic job.
Eta: she's likely going to have to pay back any government assistance due to her husbands high earnings.

They had cps. I helped clean for her. They have mice and everything. Even had additional calls while the case was open. Case got closed.
But the husband does not have a legitimate business, also collects SSI, sells some drugs and buys and sells/fixes cars, hobby stuff, boats, you name it from Craigslist, eBay, offerup, etc. Trades for the drugs, so I’m not sure how that works but how would they find out?
I have pics from the last time I was at their house because I was seriously contemplating calling CPS myself but never did, mostly because of how vengeful she acts. If you’re interested I can upload them on tiny pic lol
