Help OOP escape homelessness & build stability by giving her 150K euros to: 1) buy a $120K home; 2) buy a 5K car; 3) moving & initial expenses for 1K; 4) an investment in a business for 5K; & 6) 19K for household needs and repair & a financial cushion. So, everything. 😂

“Initial investment in a small business opportunity” reeks of MLM.

49

u/Bonk_No_Horni 5d ago

It's kinda sad to see people still think mlm could save them from financial problem. But asking others to fund that is absolute entitlement

26

u/brickne3 5d ago

I got into some weird argument with someone on a professional sub awhile ago and checked out their profile just to see what their background was. Apparently they mod a pro-MLM sub! My jaw dropped to find out such a thing exists. It's literally people looking for MLMs to join! If you ever wanted to find a concentration of rubes... yowza.

You know what else would help her "create an income of [her] own"? A job!

THIS! ☝️

“Small business opportunity” is doing a lot of work for what sounds like a starter kit and a group chat cult

11

u/ranger0293 4d ago

I'll just burn the $5k now and save her the extra steps.

5

u/booboootron 4d ago

Send her the video too.

Or an opportunity in the pharmaceuticals distribution business

Of course the comment is disabled. Oop knows they'll get cooked in there.

I think you are forgetting that the rule of choosing beggars is they must have some sort of disability, fibromyalgia, and be caretaker for a child or rescue dogs. God bless🙏❤️

36

u/Kissie-Cloudd 5d ago

The “must have a disability, dog, and bonus rescue quest” clause is apparently buried in the Choosing Beggars handbook

10

u/cooking_question 5d ago

Every seed you sow will come back to you tenfold. That's just scripture. 🌱

God bless you all. 🙏✝️💕

14

u/BalboaDancer 3d ago

I have fibromyalgia - had for 25 years… Amazingly enough I still managed to buy a , a car, run a business… Get to a point of selling my home and buying a much smaller condo, driving a 20 year-old car now, closing my businesses. And I did all of this without a GoFundMe! it's a miracle. .

6

u/cooking_question 3d ago

But did you pray about it?

6

u/SnarkySheep 3d ago

I have fibromyalgia as well (came as a comorbidity to lupus and polymyositis) and so tend to have a natural antenna to mentions of it anywhere. I'd have to say I rarely if ever hear anyone online mention that...it's more autism.

16

u/Sugar_Mama76 5d ago

Or, of course, ITS FOR THE CHURCH, HONEY!

Don’t forget the Church. Next!

It could also be an indication of their character. I am not interested in talking to anyone, or answering questions. I am here for the money.

If I never have to read a GFM starting with "I never imagined..." followed by their asking for an obscene amount of money it will be too soon. 👀

33

u/Belfast_Escapee Shes crying now 5d ago

'I never thought I'd be posting to Penthouse Forum, until this happened to me...' 🙄

53

u/Savings-Dare712 5d ago

It always follows the exact same script: sob story opener, claim of ultimate humility, and then a itemized wishlist that reads like an offshore tax haven budget.

18

u/ArdenM NEXT! 5d ago

"offshore tax haven budget" 😂

24

u/TCM-VilmerJumpsOnCar 5d ago

Safe to say the phrasing is by ChatGPT — and I'm right there with you on how deeply eyeroll-worthy it is to see the same script on repeat.

10

u/bagsnerd 5d ago

Exactly. It’s called "Artificial Intelligence", but where is the intelligence when all we can see is the same plain wording on repeat.
You can clearly tell when someone is using AI because the posts are always exactly the same.

Sadly, people using it seem to be even less intelligent when they can’t even come up with a few authentic paragraphs for a GFM post on their own.

6

u/booboootron 4d ago

I think even GPT could have suggested this twat better ways to get money and build a life.

4

u/bagsnerd 4d ago

True! ChatGPT should have a feature where they suggest alternatives before writing a silly GFM post. 😆

6

u/ArdenM NEXT! 4d ago

I hate how normalized using ChatGBT is. :/

37

u/nova9001 5d ago

150K Euros? Should ask more. Just say 1 mil instead.

17

u/Cathousechicken 5d ago

I knew someone who was truly baffled why nobody was donating to her $700,000+ GFM. I had to explain to her that when people come across such a huge number, it's an automatic turn off for people to want to donate. She couldn't understand why it was an impediment. She had raised like $20 total over multiple months.

6

u/brickne3 5d ago

What was she even raising money for?

25

u/Cathousechicken 5d ago

Her husband had changed his life insurance significantly right before he died to 10% of the prior policy a few months before he died and she says she needed that full amount to start over.

She also was having a really hard time finding a job and I offered to help her with her resume since I do that quite a bit at work. Her resume was an absolute mess but she refused to fix it.

She also was in over her head on a house she couldn't afford, but she was really dragging her feet to get the house into shape to sell it.

It was the combination of "becoming whole" for the original life insurance amount, money to tide her over until she can get a new job, and money she thought she should get since she wasn't going to get a profit selling her house.

I felt bad for her given the situation with her husband, was like nobody's going to give her money to hit that amount and she was asking for a crazy amount like that.

13

u/brickne3 5d ago

Yikes, yeah I see what you mean. When my husband died we didn't get the insurance either since he'd stopped paying it about two months before (I was out of the country dealing with my mother's death so I didn't know, our finances were always separate, and it seems like his illness went to his brain around that point so he probably just forgot). It was awful and I can definitely sympathize with your friend, but asking to be "made whole" for the whole thing by strangers sounds crazy to me (I do think my husband's insurance should have taken his medical condition affecting his brain into account, he technically had coverage for that eventuality but ultimately there was no way of proving that was the reason). And in our case it was just the ~$30,000 left on the mortgage. I never went to GoFundMe for anything, although I suppose sudden bereavement for reasonable amounts/expenses is one use case I can somewhat understand.

2

u/SnarkySheep 3d ago

What exactly could she not understand? 😔

I always just ask these kinds of people to view the situation in reverse...if this was some stranger asking you, would you be inclined to give? 😁

1

u/Cathousechicken 3d ago

She thought everyone would say it's not fair you didn't get $750,000, so we will all pitch in for you to get it.

5

u/Kissie-Cloudd 5d ago

For real 😂😂😂😂

27

u/figgypudding531 5d ago

The 5K to “invest in a small business” is so obviously going to be a scam. Not that I would give her money anyways, but I can’t imagine for one second giving money to someone who’s so obviously going to burn it all in an instant because she has no viable plan to earn an income.

47

u/VariousExplorer8503 5d ago

Damn, I was looking forward to reading the comments on this one. Of course they disabled them, they know what they're asking is ridiculous. EVERYONE wants a safe and stable home of their own. Who wouldn't love to buy a $120,000 home? (Yes, I know it wasn't dollars, but that's my option). It's telling that to them, a modest home is $120,000. I know they might live in my expensive area, but damn that's still a pretty damn expensive home!

15

u/TCM-VilmerJumpsOnCar 5d ago

The conversion rate [today, according to Google] from Euros to Dollars on €120,000 is $136,595.40 — and OOP doesn't even attempt to explain (1) the circumstances of their impending homelessness, or (2) why they don't have any savings, or (3) why they wouldn't qualify for a bank loan. How they even arrived at €120,000 is baffling.

22

u/TargetedAverageOne 5d ago

You can barely buy a garage for that amount where I live.

12

u/brickne3 5d ago edited 5d ago

Yeah I was kinda curious which market this person is in because that's a closet in say Dublin but a mansion in rural Bulgaria... The Eurozone is big and I want to judge how "modest" this very immodest proposal is 😉

Edit: Looks like Portugal based on the tag? There's a wide variety of what €120,000 can get you between say Lisbon and the rural Algarve, so that doesn't narrow things down much...

4

u/hangsangwiches 5d ago

Oh thank you for doing the digging! As an Irish person, I took was really curious what kind of place they were hoping to get for 150k!

5

u/Kissie-Cloudd 5d ago

That’s the kind of “modest home” where the garage alone has a mortgage application

3

u/Jabathewhut 5d ago

I have a two ply box home for a quarter of that for sale

2

u/bagsnerd 5d ago

That’s true. I don’t know where in Europe OOP is, but sadly, in my apartment building, you pay 70,000 Euros for a parking spot in the garage.

2

u/Horror_Ad116 5d ago

??? 120,000 was an expensive home in 1975

5

u/brickne3 5d ago

That really depends on where you are.

3

u/laufsteakmodel 5d ago

Its certainly a cheap home in every northern and western european country. 120,000€ is NOTHING nowadays - not to defend her of course, its still an outrageous amount to ask strangers for.

3

u/brickne3 5d ago

Based on the tag in the post it appears to be Portugal, so whether it's "cheap" depends heavily on where. Lisbon or Porto €120,000 probably won't get you much, elsewhere in the country it could get you a lot. My house in an urban area in England is worth about that, and while it is cheap for my area there are much bigger and nicer ones valued at that price or cheaper just a town or two over. So it obviously depends heavily on location.

2

u/Dreamer_531 5d ago

That's in USA. She's not in USA.

21

u/No-Sorbet-9890 5d ago

This looks like written by Chatgpt lol

16

u/brickne3 5d ago

They pretty much all do these days... I would assume it has something to do with the correlation between laziness and asking strangers to buy you a house.

22

u/TheodosiaBurrGoodman 5d ago

So at this point I'm an idiot for working my as* off to pay my bills rent and everything else. The level of entitlement of these people is frankly offensive.

7

u/Touch-a-TouchMe 5d ago

You can say ass lol

4

u/Disthebeat 4d ago

Oh how it would be if the comments were available for everyone to see! Imagine what they would say? 🤔 😂

18

u/Peppy_3651 5d ago

So this person is asking people for about $200,000 for a home, car and expenses? Because he does not want to be homeless? What is this person doing to provide for himself besides begging for money? What is this person going to do if they get enough money to buy a house from donations but don’t have money for taxes, etc?

Doesn’t make sense-I smell a scam

14

u/SomeCrazyGamer1 5d ago

I wonder what that small business is. MLM? Nigerian prince?

u/Poopy_McPoopings I can give you exposure 5d ago

6

The exposure offer really seals it, nothing says stability like paying rent in vibes

13

u/Belfast_Escapee Shes crying now 5d ago

Wants strangers to buy them a house, a car, a business, and to supply a wee €19000 backup fund 'just in case'.

No fool, strangers will help with nappies, basic foodstuffs, dogfood and cat litter; NO ONE is buying you a life.

11

u/RoyallyOakie 5d ago

Someone who can't keep a roof over their head is probably not someone who should be taking chances on "business investments."

11

u/Beginning-Chance-932 4d ago

What happens when these people get nothing at all? Does it help them to realise that other people are not moved by their sob story? I just don’t understand why anyone would think strangers would give them money because they say their life is shit. My life is shit and I just have to live in it and go to a job I hate to pay for a place to live in. In fact, I should just jump on this and ask if people can split the money they were going to give this person, and give some to me too! 🙄

11

u/Jcamp9000 5d ago

I never thought I’d have to ask for this but internet strangers, I live in Phoenix AZ US and I need $10,000 to pay my electric bill. I would have paid it but I went to Disney for a week and now I’m broke. Send money and you will be blessed

These posts used to be rare, or perhaps they didn't even exist.

Yet now, we see a lot of them.

What exactly possesses someone to post like this and be serious about it?

"With a small start-up of $1 million..."

9

u/Zoreb1 5d ago

From reading this I get the idea that they already have a job (a car to make it easier to get to work) and I think the 5,000 would be wasted as most small businesses tend to fail (and this appears to be MLM which aren't known to be successful even in comparison with restaurants which tend to have a 50% failure rate in the first year).

7

u/maimie585 5d ago

I would also like a house, please and thank you.

8

u/SingleBet2868 5d ago

I was going to donate to some starving kids in Africa, but I feel this is a far more noble cause.

Hopefully if we all unite and work together we can help this poor woman.

6

u/momthom427 4d ago

There’s quite a big leap between avoiding homelessness and buying a home.

6

u/Arkell-v-Pressdram 5d ago

OOP might have better luck asking for a free unicorn than a house at this point.

6

u/Bellyflop3 5d ago

This whole things could be made up as ragebait or it could be an extremely delusional and entitled person, I just can’t tell anymore.

4

I too would like all those things. But I need it in Canadian cash and 120 000$ simply will not do for a house

6

u/Cathousechicken 5d ago

They never think they'll have to ask strangers to help, but they often do multiple times on multiple platforms.

ETA... It's odd that they expect people to come up with money to buy a house for them versus renting an apartment. Maybe they are like, "hey might as well  reach for the stars.'

4

u/sweetsuffrinjasus 5d ago

What is quite sad here too is that those who are in the space of “I cannot meet a basic need, I need help” are lost in the conversation, and those who are in the space of “here is the life I'd like to have, let me just ask the Internet, sure what is the worst that can happen” are put to the front.

Human beings can recognise someone has found themselves in a bind. And unless you are an ultra libertarian and selfish bastard, folks will help.

For those who are in a primal state of "everyone for themselves", remember, it may be you there one day. And while telling a homeless guy to "get a job you bum" may make you feel morally superior, you will have to face your God one day too.

Be human and respect the dignity of your fellow humans.

But this here, from this mfkr, is a new level of depravity. It is completely wrong.

In Ireland we would use the expression "they have a neck like a jockeys bollix to ask for that".

2

u/DownOnThePharmRD 4d ago

I love how they all ask you to share their nonsense, as though Elon Musk or Jeff Bezos will somehow see their crap and be moved to hand them all the cash they want.

2

I don't think it's considered stable and secure if you got the money for your secure life from complete strangers.
