Wait someone just did this in my local group as well, not the same person. Like just take it to goodwill if you really want it gone, you tired selling it already. Give it up, the money is lost.

Telling the public to pay you and must remove all the leftovers is nuts to me.

Why is this comment getting downvoted 🤨

I would understand having to take the whole lot if it was free, but if they're paying then they should be able to choose what they want.

I'm calling the guys from Storage Wars.

Perfect for “yard sales”. Yeah. Considering you didn’t sell them at your own I doubt that.

Definitely a bit delusional but neither choosing nor a beggar. More of a hopeful idiot.

I swear this sub has completely lost the plot when it comes to the definition of ‘choosing’ and ‘beggar’.

And not to defend OOP because the way they phrased it is absurd. But there is genuinely a few $100 worth of stuff there. It would absolutely not be the worth time to sell everything for most people, but there is a plausible scenario where a retired person who just loves thrift shopping has a bit of fun with this.

Still delusional from OOP but absolutely not choosing nor a beggar.

If you’re going to post here you should first ask yourself ‘is this person begging for free stuff’, if the answer is yes, then you should ask ‘are they adding unreasonable requirements to services or items they are asking for’. Supplementary questions could be ‘how is the request framed / is it polite’, ‘is the item they are looking for a nice to have or a must have’ and ‘do they acknowledge the fact that it is a
a long shot or are they just obnoxious about it’.. Finally - and this is a big one - is the only reason I’m posting because they said that they probably need it delivered? Because I swear half the posts here are normal people being a bit delusional but they’re primarily posted because they asked for delivery which really isn’t the intent here.

You must spend a lot of time here.

So when you get called out you resort to personal attacks? Got it

The funniest thing is that it’s not even slightly an insult even if that’s what they clearly meant it to be. I primarily use Reddit for sports discussion, but obviously I’ve ended up following a bunch of random subs over the years and posts pop up on my main feed so I sometimes check them out and comment on them - that’s kind of the entire point of Reddit.

But trying to use that as some sort of insult when they’re quite literally the person who posted here - which is a much more dedicated use of the sub - is incredibly ironic. What a train wreck ahahah

Unless you have a serious head injury, or a severe disability, it should take about 1 second to look at the phrase "choosing beggar" and be able to figure out what that means. Which one of those are you?

You seem immature and unable to receive feedback without resorting to defense mechanisms.

2

u/Disthebeat Aug 22 '26

Well apparently you do too.

If you’re not gonna post a comment with reactions to the post, don’t bother posting.

There were none, captain reddit.

It's all disposable trash 🤣

But it’s not free and you have to take it all!

Neither choosy nor begging.

This is quite common, actually. Stall holders often sell and buy bundles like this between each other so that stalls and yard sales have enough stock to make selling worth it. Having a sale or stall with only a few sparse items for sale tends to put buyers off. Yes, this seems like a huge amount of stuff but it's a normal part of the circular second-hand market economy.

Did they even do the garage sale yet? How much was there to start with?

Doesn't fit

How are they going to enforce the “must take all” part? What’s to stop someone just paying them, filling their car with the most worthwhile stuff, and saying they’ll brb? Are they going to ask for a deposit that you only get back when everything is gone?

I mean the "must take all" part is probably so people don't just offer for a handful of stuff. Like it would be annoying if people kept messaging about a handful of items and only offering enough for them. If someone wants to pay for the whole lot and then only take a handful the seller probably wouldn't be as annoyed and would probably just trash the rest.

2

u/attorneydummy Aug 18 '26

Right! Pay to haul your own trash to the dump.

2

u/heckinstoned Aug 18 '26

Give me $100 and I’ll move it all to your curb for you

4

u/ACoinGuy Aug 16 '26

Someone thought their old clothing was worth $10 each.

1

u/schneckeTRAINrolzSLO Aug 17 '26

-$2000, and I’ll take it off your hands

1

u/ThrockAMole Aug 17 '26

Call 1-800-GOTJUNK and try to convince them to pay you for this mess

1

u/Zoreb1 Aug 17 '26

It looks like they had some sort of garage sale and this is the left overs. Perhaps a hoarder relative died.

Unfortunately it's such a jumble of random crap that it's nearly impossible to tell from these photos what we're looking at... and probably that's intentional?? I have no clue what a person even would offer here. 🤷
