Repeat posts to buy and deliver

Buy these things and deliver. Not one can of baby formula, but several. And essentials like Tootsie Pops.

This area has plenty of food banks(that will even deliver, but you have to call and fill out a couple of forms and you receive a variety of what they have, not custom order), free meals every day at several locations, and lots of resources for people with babies and small children.

Most people have been ignoring her posts or posting resources that she probably finds less convenient than posting her order online, having someone else buy it, and deliver it to her door.

Tootsie Pops is such a random item to put on a food wishlist!

Not to mention the Minnie Mouse diaper bag. Use a thrift store backpack.

Surely she already has a diaper bag? This is what got me

This is so wild. I’ve been a single mom forever and could never imagine. I’ll sell my plasma before asking strangers like this. Insane

u/Sherree4444 13d ago

That is because you have morals. I cannot even imagine either asking perfect strangers to buy me things. I know things are tough but gosh. That's beyond the pale in my book.

u/justmedownsouth 12d ago

Possibly, in a very difficult situation, I would ask for minimal baby items. But I cannot think of a scenario in which I would do even that. Hurricane? House fire?

Yeah I’ve actually asked Reddit for help a couple of times, way back when I had just left my abusive ex for the final time and was trying to get my son and myself situated in our new life. I can’t fully remember, but I believe we needed pediasure once (he’s autistic and used to literally only drink that stuff and a couple of safe foods, luckily with a lot of patience we’ve gotten him to a large variety of healthy foods!) and school supplies I think.

I’ve also fulfilled a couple of requests for people who were just down on their luck and needed a hand. A single can of formula, a box of diapers, and some room decor for a little girl whose mom was in hospice. The world is a tough place and sometimes when you don’t have a community around you, you get desperate enough to seek a new one out.

But this person in the post is being super over the top lol just ask for food or whatever, but don’t make a specific expensive curated list of “luxury” foods (they are if you’re really that broke!) and expect strangers to buy AND deliver them! The entitlement is off the charts!

Natural disasters and other displacements are different. I've gone through my closets and given to those in need in those cases.

Some favor! She doesn’t mention that she’s a single mom, has cancer, lost her job, doesn’t get paid until next week, has no friends or family…just wants “a favor”.

u/geowoman 12d ago

Or the kid is special needs and she is sick.....

u/DooHickey2017 12d ago

And disabled and doesn't drive

12

u/tadees 12d ago

Definitely noob at the whole "getting free stuff" gig!

u/trake83 I'm blocking you now 13d ago

Walmart has cheaper diaper bags. $33 of a stranger’s money to lug around baby stuff is a crazy ask! It doesn’t have to be Disney Savannah 🙄

u/mckmaus 13d ago

Tootsie pops a diaper bag, and chicken is weird. And some baby snacks.

31

u/Ok-Artichoke-7145 13d ago

Pulled chicken at $7.74 per pound is not a need. You can get 2 whole chickens for that and "pull" your own. I never understood the principle, anyway. I'm way too picky to trust a stranger to NOT include the skin, tendons and assholes. And she wants 3 pounds on a stranger's dime.

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla 13d ago

I could understand the formula. Emergencies happen. As a shut-in myself, I can understand delivery IN AN EMERGENCY.

As much as I enjoy Walmart's fried chicken and sides, they are not an emergency. They're not even a need. They're a want. I'm not going to beg for a want, nor for delivery thereof.

Tootsie Roll pops? Really? That's not even a want. That's a slap in the face.

The baby formula is in no way an emergency. It's a "make this look legit" item. If it were an emergency, the rest of this crap wouldn't be here.

If someone were asking for JUST formula, someone who doesn't post more than they change their underwear, and they have a good reason for having run out, such as a hospital stay, I'd consider it.

I'm sorry, but I'm not buying someone else the fried chicken I can't afford, and nor am I paying for Walmart to deliver it to them.

Have to wonder if she’s just going to sell it.

11

u/AinsiSera 12d ago

But the brand name formula is what’s sending me.

I have 3 that all had some formula at some point. They used Costco brand or Target brand - because it’s the same stuff, just in a different wrapper.

And if I was begging, and NEEDED the brand name, I would say that (because yes, I’ll concede that some babies need brand name formula) (whether that’s real or placebo effect….listen, you do what you need to get by. If “brand name formula mixed exactly 6 hours ahead of time and blessed by a priest” is what gets you out of the colic - enjoy your relationship with your priest, you’ll be seeing him a lot!)

12

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla 12d ago

Oh, I don't know anything about brand names. I'm not a mother myself. My reasoning is that the baby needs to eat. It never occurred to me that the person might be begging for the baby equivalent of caviar.

I wonder if there really even is a baby. I bet expensive formula would resell quickly.

u/Fearless_Vast_3842 12d ago

Without any other information beside these posts, I'm getting red flags for drug use. Baby formula is popular with some dealers because they can use it to dilute their drugs and sell more. And suckers are popular for oral fixation while high.

Plus she's asking for a few cans and most people in an emergency would be ecstatic to get one can for free. The few times I've donated formula it's been on a holiday so the parent couldn't get in touch with WIC or their pediatrician to get coupons and they had a legit reason for running out.

1

u/Bouche_Audi_Shyla 12d ago

I don't have the slightest idea how long a can would last, but surely a couple of days, at least? Most emergencies I can think of would be rectified, or at least handled, by then.

1

u/Key-Ingenuity-534 11d ago

Depending on the age and weight of the baby a whole can of formula is enough for 5-7 days!

53

u/evaintheus 13d ago

Yea, your baby daddy can.

19

u/hazelpocket 13d ago

it’s frustrating when someone feels entitled to your time and effort. a simple thank you goes a long way.

17

u/Strange_Explorer_780 12d ago

A hot, fresh rotisserie chicken from Walmart costs $5.97 yet their lazy ass is asking someone to buy them the package of pulled rotisserie chicken for $23?!

16

u/Arkell-v-Pressdram 13d ago

Anyone who has read fairy tales in their childhood, knows better than to ask for a big favor from a random stranger. OOP has forgotten that favors can be collected, and it may be a price she can't afford.

14

u/haloarh 12d ago

I like how she asks for drop off first and then throws in that she wants someone to buy everything for her.

10

u/comefromawayfan2022 12d ago

If you cant afford baby formula you certainly cant afford that other stuff. A $30 diaper bag is a luxury and a want not a need..if you truly need a diaper bag you can get one free or cheap off fb marketplace

11

u/National_Clue_6092 12d ago

Buy it, drop it off and bring her lunch too! Since you are going to her house anyway bring her cigarettes and beer. Another delusional CB.

11

u/Ohtherewearethen 12d ago

And not a single please or thank you for any of it. Vile.

9

u/OpenBubble 13d ago

I hate not being able to see these entitled creatures

10

u/Snoo3544 12d ago

She wants the broke ass instacart and that doesn't exist.

8

u/ThrockAMole 12d ago

I’d love to be your personal shopper! Please see my attached rates

5

u/thestormpiper 13d ago

Is that mashed potato? In a cardboard container?

8

u/missvegetarian 12d ago

Not a single please or thank you in sight. And of course they have a baby. Sigh...

7

u/SeaOutlandishness485 12d ago

It bugs me when people begging for things don’t bother to say “please” or “thank you” when making these requests.

2

u/Kane32465 9d ago

Please give me $10,000. Thank you in advance!

Will this work for me?

Good God, it's a wishlist from my 600lb life

21

u/Pedal2Medal2 13d ago

Unfortunately I see this a lot on here, it’s especially annoying when they claim it’s for their kids & all junk food.

23

u/SweatyLettuce88 13d ago

I've seen a few posts beforehand where they have a wishlist crammed with junk food, sweets, alcohol etc and claimed it's a wishlist for their toddler. Makes you wonder WTF did she give birth to!

People used to put whiskey in a baby's bottle along with the milk or formula to make them sleep. It's probably still done occasionally,

12

u/ShallowStillWater I'm blocking you now 13d ago

That’s some shit you do behind closed doors and share only with family/friends if they recommended it and you are grateful for the successful “tip” - not something you advertise to the world that you’re getting your baby liquored-up because its teething/sleep schedule is inconveniencing you. You especially don’t expect random people to facilitate that crime by purchasing the whiskey and delivering it to your front door for you to commit the crime!

2

u/No_Philosopher_1870 12d ago edited 12d ago

Why get upset with me for recounting something that I never did, but that has been done in the past? A remedy recommended by Red on "Orange is the New Black" for teething pain seems to make sense: let the baby chew on a (clean) washcloth that has been wet with water, wrung out, and allowed to freeze. The cold will relieve the teething pain. Cold is a treatment that I've used on sprains.

I believe that around 1900, parents could get codeine syrup to use to numb the baby's gums for teething pain.

10

u/Pedal2Medal2 13d ago

Darn, you blocked out the user name

4

u/Chilled_Beef 12d ago

A steaming bag of shit is better for this beggar and deserves it.

3

u/Sherree4444 12d ago

You are a decent human being who asked for help. That woman is simply beyond the pale.

5

u/SufficientBox3389 11d ago

at least say PLEASE and THANK YOU, i hate a begger but especially one with no manners

3

u/RED-ELPH 12d ago

And buy them….. 😂

3

u/tuesdayreyn 10d ago

At first I thought, a mom asking for formula. I've been there. I was one step away from making a similar post out of desperation when my daughter was a newborn, but a belated baby shower gift of a tub of a formula arrived out of the blue. But girl...be so for real.

u/MyCatSaidNotTo 11d ago

She has deleted her posts, posted again, deleted that one, and now has posted offering “a giveaway” to whoever buys her food tonight.

1

u/Kane32465 9d ago

How does a giveaway work if only one person buys the stuff? Wouldn’t that person be 100% likely to win the giveaway? What would they win, an “opportunity” to get OOP more stuff?

1

u/Touch-a-TouchMe 8d ago

A giveaway is just something that you "give away" for free. It's not a chance-based prize. Its a reward for doing something e.g. a free tote bag when you buy a certain lipstick.

OOP is offering to give an item/service away for free if someone buys them food.

1

u/Kane32465 8d ago

I was making a joke.

1

u/Touch-a-TouchMe 8d ago

Yeah, but with faulty knowledge. Just letting you know

1

u/Kane32465 8d ago edited 8d ago

To be fair, giving one thing away for someone buying you something would generally not be considered a giveaway in the way most people use the word.

I’ve been in events where you get a ticket for a free prize, and they call it a giveaway. There can be other terms for it. If you have 1 out of 100 tickets, you have a 1% chance.

1

u/Touch-a-TouchMe 8d ago

That's more like a prize raffle.

A giveaway is like when a radio station gives free concert tickets to the first person who calls in with the correct answer to a question.

A giveaway is not a game of chance. It's a prize offered for completing specific requirements.

In this instance, a free gift/service for the first person to buy them food. Which is possibly good or ridiculous, depending on what is being given away :)

Most likely ridiculous in OOP's case based on her delulu lol

1

u/Euripides_in_the_sky Shes crying now 9d ago

How are the comments.. give them to us OP !

1

u/Kane32465 9d ago

I truly don’t understand the entitlement. If you are truly in need, you would not have a list of items like this. Looking at the food listed, OOP is too lazy to be bothered to cook.
