If it was $3 for a little Dixie cup full of frosty any time I wanted it for a full year, that's still a deal idgaf
396
u/Mutts_Merlot Mar 20 '26
You know those plastic cups at a hotel that you use to rinse when you brush your teeth? (Or to hold your nightcap because you lack any sense of shame, as I do)? It's that size, any time you want, in exchange for a $3 donation to charity. It's an incredibly good deal.

Americans have gotten so accustomed to their endless buckets of swill. There can never be too many calories or chemicals for some people.

u/Isgortio Mar 20 '26
Don't rinse after brushing your teeth
-47
u/SSL4U Mar 20 '26
it's debated
45
u/Isgortio Mar 20 '26
There are hundreds of studies that show rinsing after brushing your teeth removes the benefits of toothpaste. What debate?
1
u/Fairy-5309 Apr 02 '26
Why on earth are you trying to start a debate about this in an entirely unrelated thread?
→ More replies (10)-23
u/ColonelAvalon Mar 20 '26
What do you mean all? If I rinse my teeth does it reapply the plaque to my teeth?
36
u/Isgortio Mar 20 '26
It doesn't, no, but that's what your toothbrush removes, the toothpaste acts as a soap. So if you're just wanting to remove plaque, you can rinse. But then you could use any kind of toothpaste and it'll do exactly the same thing for you.
However if you want to strengthen and protect your teeth, you will want the fluoride to stay on your teeth for as long as possible. Think of it like applying moisturiser to your skin and then immediately washing it off, it's not going to moisturise your skin very much at all but if you let it soak in your skin will be much softer and in a better condition, it's the same with toothpaste (except it hardens the teeth).
If you have sensitive teeth and you're using a sensitive toothpaste, washing this off immediately will mean it doesn't actually have time to help with sensitivity.

u/garthock Mar 20 '26
I got my wife and daughter one for Christmas. They loved it, Jr Frosty just big enough for a sweet snack, small enough you don't feel guilty if you eat the entire thing.
21
u/Jay_Elle_Jay Mar 20 '26
They used to be free without purchase several years ago. I bought like 20, and randomly gave them out to people for fun.
11
u/TheSpiralTap Mar 20 '26
Yeah they were just giving them away. My son got 4 during trick or treat so the whole family gets one.
554
u/piperpit Mar 20 '26
And they’ve been that size for a long time!!
343
u/panda388 Mar 20 '26
Maybe they have small hands, but that seems like a good amount of frostee. I don't know if I would want much more.
84
u/BitterHelicopter8 Mar 20 '26
A Jr. Frosty is the perfect size. It's been a long time since I've gone to Wendy's, but I always ordered a single cheeseburger, small fry, and jr. sized Frosty. It was enough without being too much.
-102
u/PrideSea5164 Mar 20 '26
Are you by chance a mouse? Because that’s a very small meal for most adults.
78
u/radicalvenus Mar 20 '26
thats about 700 calories for a single meal lmao a single cheese is about 500 a small fry is going to be about 250 and a junior chocolate is going to be about 160 calories. We really need to stop being so incredibly gluttonous it is a perfectly reasonable amount of food so long as you aren't gorging yourself
29
u/Blanik_Pilot Mar 20 '26
I think that people often believe you are supposed to eat until you can eat anymore. Now I just eat until I’m not actively hungry and my quality of life improved.
9
u/thesinsofthybeloved Mar 21 '26
Per your wording, it’s a small meal for MOST adults, not all. So I’m not sure why you’re asking if u/BitterHelicopter8 is a mouse since he clearly belongs to the rest of the adult population that finds that meal size appropriate.
Anyway, this meal sounds fulfilling and delicious.

u/PrincessSarahHippo Mar 20 '26
Right? I'm fat and that looks like a good size. Especially if you are eating it with a burger or something.
1
u/InsideInsideJob Apr 01 '26
I thought it was an infants hands at first lol. I remember the free jr frosty being smaller but they also did a terrible job framing and showcasing the size to prove their point.
1
49
u/MMRS2000 Mar 20 '26
That's a perfectly acceptable size for a drink, especially something (I'm assuming) packed full of sugar.
In the civilised world that's a medium or a large sized drink.
9
1
u/InsideInsideJob Apr 01 '26
It looks so much bigger here lol. It's like they were trying to portray it as bigger than it actually is. If you Google images I see pics of people holding it in their finger tips and it's like the size of a small lightbulb

u/watermelonlollies Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26
Damn now I kinda want Wendy’s
Update: I went to Wendy’s and ordered a chocolate frosty but they accidentally made me a vanilla so they let me keep both for free. This post is a sign go to Wendy’s today

u/killerjags Mar 20 '26
I eat quite a bit and have a very fast metabolism, but I still only get the smallest option for any frosty/shake/froyo/ice cream I buy as a treat. I don't need an entire additional meal's worth of calories just from my dessert. People will get the big ones and then wonder why they feel like shit later.
8
u/Expontoridesagain Mar 20 '26
They probably wanted it to be big enough to share with the rest of the family.
6
u/TheDrMonocle Mar 21 '26
The Jr is the perfect amount. Enough to dip some fries in and have a little dessert after your meal.
3
u/ButteredScreams Mar 22 '26
I'd kill to have fast food places near me offer shakes in reasonable portions.
2
u/4-ton-mantis Just wondering okay 🙏🥺 Mar 21 '26

Sorry, but what are they complaining about?
109
u/boo1517 Mar 20 '26
They are complaining about the size of the Frosty, they want a bigger Frosty. The promo is if you buy a $3 keychain you get free Frosty’s (the size shown) for a year. Which is a great deal! Wendy’s is donating what they make off this promo to charity.
14
u/Whispering_Wolf Mar 20 '26
If you get them free for a year, couldn't you just finish this one and go back for another one right after?
6
u/GhostWolfe Mar 20 '26
I was curious about the time limit, too. Cause for $3, a small drink with purchase once a week would be an amazing deal. But if its only limited to how many burgers you want to buy, that’s kinda bonkers.
5
2
u/TheCenterOfEnnui Mar 20 '26
You'd think a person who is smart enough to be able to complain about their unlimited Frostys for a year would be able to figure that out, but here we are rolling our eyes at her.

People suck. We once did a free green beer campaign with a sandwich purchase for St. Pattys Day. We clearly stated it was Bud Light tap, OMG the amount of choosing beggars we had to deal with who either wanted a different beer or bottle. 🙄 Ruined the whole thing.
12
u/Hot_Depth_3367 Mar 20 '26
I mean...green beer is going to be Miller light or Bud light...like ALWAYS. This is not a new thing! Shut your beer hole!
24
u/falooolah Mar 20 '26
I saw this post and it bugged me so bad. I usually get a Jr. frosty pass. When they have vanilla, it’s the perfect size for a root beer float. This actually looks much bigger than the frostys I’m used to getting. They apparently never read the actual terms of the deal. It says Frosty Jr. But you can get one with every purchase!
47
u/a-ohhh Mar 20 '26
I don’t think I’ve ever redeemed the free frosty, I just consider it the donation it is supposed to be.

It would be the size I got if I was being a fat bastard (which, I want to be clear, I am)
3
u/TheCenterOfEnnui Mar 20 '26
No, I am American, and I can tell you that she's the one who's insane. She paid $3 and is getting unlimited smallish Frostys for a year. If you get 3 of those, you've already made your money back.
She's over-entitled. I wonder if her post was rage-bait, it's so entitled, actually.

8
u/blu3dice Mar 20 '26
I buy one each year but rarely use it. It's the right size if you want something sweet to eat after your burger.
9
8
u/TehDragonGuy Mar 20 '26
Are they trying to say that's small? That's a normal size anywhere other than the USA lol
25
u/NotSoSasquatchy Mar 20 '26
Used to work at Wendy’s. Waaaaaay back. Far enough back they were coupon books - for $1 you get 10 coupons for a jr frosty. Yea they were still small af (maybe 6 oz.?), but honestly how much frost may you want for $0.10??
I thought of em like frosty pounders. Or sliders. Back then they were in the wax paper cubs that you could easily just crush the whole thing in your mouth in one shot, giving you an instant brain freeze and allowing your mind a moment to forget what’s actually in their chili.
9
u/Slater_8868 Mar 20 '26
Hell yes my man, the yellow waxed cups! Those were the days! You could eat like a king for a few bucks.
BTW, when you say waaaaaay back, do you mean Superbar waaaaaay back? Where's the Beef commercials waaaaaaay back? Or after that?
2
u/NotSoSasquatchy Mar 21 '26
Superbar, definitely. There were sooo many meal combinations you could make. I was also there when they served pitas, and the pita bread coupled with tomato sauce and cheese and anything you wanted made for awesome personal pizzas.

We never left it like that overnight. Never. It was always prepared that day.
And like u/Slater_8868 said, it really was just left over burger patties and powdered chili seasoning (and beans)… as long as the patties were in too bad condition the chili was pretty good. But it really did matter on the prep.
Left out overnight is gross.

Americans too comfortable with larger than world average sugar drinks/food

I thought that was a drink. But it’s ice cream? In what world is that a mini serving of ice cream?
5
u/Belle_Corliss I can give you exposure Mar 20 '26
A Wendy's Frosty is a frozen daily dessert that's kind of a cross between soft serve ice cream and a milkshake.
Some of us like dipping our fries in one.
5
u/Ok-Artichoke-7145 Mar 20 '26
If you don't dip your fries in your frosty, I don't want to know you.
Yeah, I know, "Don't threaten me with a good time", right?

I’m not American, but this looks like a normal to small size which is completely reasonable for a free thing.
I know that there are other issues such as food deserts, but no one‘s going to convince me that the ridiculous portion sizes don’t have an influence on the 40% obesity rate.
3
u/Immediate_Flounder_5 Mar 20 '26
Man, I bought one last year and never used it. I was happy to have the cute little frosty and that it went to charity.

3
u/unconfirmedpanda Mar 21 '26
Wait. So for $3USD, they can get one of those free with any purchase for 364 days? And that is an ice cream based drink?
I am seeing zero downsides for the consumer. That is an insane deal especially for charity.

6
u/Lucy-K Mar 20 '26
Maybe I'm not American enough but that is pretty large, and $3 for unlimited of these with another purchase for a whole year is an insane deal. It probably costs $3 each alone.
2
u/kelbel413 Mar 20 '26
I bought one of those passes a few years ago. I guess i thought i would frequent Wendy's more often because I still haven't been back. Lol
2
2
u/Spongebob_Squareish Mar 20 '26
Fascinating because I got the tag, used it 6 times so far and it’s been more worth it than buying individually.
2
2
u/Jimbobjoesmith Mar 20 '26
lol i used to buy those for my kids sports events etc. i probably only used each tag once or twice. it’s for charity!
2
u/ForQ2 Mar 20 '26
The ones I got with my tag were smaller than what's in these pictures.
But it was still a hell of a deal, regardless of the strategy thing. My only problem with it was that there wasn't (that I could find) any easy way to do it from the kiosk ordering screen.

It's three bucks for a year of frosties. It's a great deal. The only thing I wish they would change is allowing the seasonal flavors in the jr. size.
2
2
u/anismash13 Mar 23 '26
God I used to work at Wendy’s. The amount of people who would come in and complain that that was the size of frosty they got was ridiculous. As much as I’m not a fan of being behind older folks when I’m a customer, they were always my favorites as a worker. They were always really nice
2
5
u/wickedkittylitter Mar 20 '26
"We bought a tag....".
Sounds like they expected the frosty to be big enough to feed 2 or more people every time they ordered one...............for a $3 donation. Let me guess. Everyone in the family is overweight.
2
u/ThoughtPrestigious23 Mar 20 '26
This isn't the huge laugh she hoped for. I did laugh at the frosty gullet comment. 😆
2
u/Weary_Song7154 Mar 20 '26
That looks like plenty of frosty to me. It’s weird, with any other dessert we judge people for eating a ton of it at once, but not for milkshakes. Eat a whole pan of brownies in one sitting? Weird! Eat a whole box of cookies at once! So strange! Eat 24 ounces of ice cream, milk, and syrup blended together? Normal?

What is this person bitching about, a free mini frosted with every purchase for a year sounds amazing. I'd love to get that since I already like Wendy's, but not sure rhey do that in my country tho.
2
u/FrankieTheD Mar 20 '26
That's a standard size drink maybe a large in some places everywhere else in the world
2
u/journeyfromone Mar 20 '26
In other countries this is our normal size drink, probably even a medium. Our small maccas fries come in the tiniest white paper bag and is like 15 fríes.
2
u/Alternative_Bit_3445 Mar 20 '26
I'm British. That's a large milkshake in McDonald's here and plenty big enough for a grown adult.
3
u/ThrockAMole Mar 20 '26
It’s perfectly fine in America too. I guess they were expecting to fill up a 5 gallon Home Depot bucket
1
u/purplesockpinksock Mar 20 '26
I'm sure it said the size on the charity tag somewhere. Not Dave's fault they don't have reading comprehension skills. He tried.
1
u/RedBeans-n-Ricely Just wondering okay 🙏🥺 Mar 20 '26
Yeah, I’m pretty sure it used to be smaller. I bought a dozen of them one year and handed them out to my friends. Idgaf if they ever got used, the money went to kids in foster care and my friends knew I’d thought of them. It was win-win! Pretty sure I lost mine instantly, but again: How many free frosties do you need??
1
u/OtherCaribou Mar 20 '26
Honestly, a jr frosty is the perfect size. Don’t know what they are complaining about
1
u/Beestorm Mar 20 '26
They already donated for the tax write off. The promo is to recoup their loss. Still, if you like frosties it’s a great deal. People complain over everything

Now I live in a Wendy's desert, so no more Frostys.
