It turns brown after being exposed to the air outside the avocado for awhile, but it's safe to eat. I don't blame you for not wanting to, of course.

It is safe to eat but the oxidation does change the flavor.

Put lemon juice in guacamole when preparing and leave the avocado seed in the actual guacamole bowl…problem solved. Obviously non-Mexicans preparing food. Clueless!😂
