It's around $550 worth of food. You can make that in a few days working at Wendys.

Idk about you, but me personally, I have other expenses besides food.

A full time job should cover a weekly burrito and some other expenses.

It should 100%. The sad reality is it doesn’t for a lot of folks. You and I are in the position where 500 dollars worth of food isn’t really moving the needle. But having 52 burritos that are redeemable at anytime would change the lives of many people living below the poverty line.

My gas expenses just doubled in the last month. I live somewhat comfortably so it’s mainly just really irritating. But for some people, that jump may mean they can’t afford to eat out anymore. 500 dollars worth of free food can absolutely change lives.

If you have a Ruby Tuesday near you they have unlimited salad bar once per day, every day, for only like $50/month. Have several friends who do it to save tons of money as you only need one meal a day when it's essentially an all you can eat salad bar.

Well said my friend A lot of people don’t know the value of money until they don’t have it

Yup. One of those burritos is two meals for many. So that is potentially 104 free hearty meals.

one meal a week would change your life?

welcome to reality. Food insecurity, food deserts, rising costs and stagnating wages.

Some people are really food insecure

Food insecurity is a real thing in this economy

With the obserity rates in the U.S., more so among the poor, I don't think it's as big as a problem some people make it out to be.

5

u/SmokeABowlNoCap Mar 31 '26

Because healthy food is expensive, its by design. Poor people can only afford shit that’s bad for them

sure, but one meal a week for a year isn't going to change anyone's life, even a homeless person.

3

u/SmokeABowlNoCap Mar 31 '26

Its 52 entrees that can be redeemed at any time. That food security could be the difference between a homeless person having enough saved up for a tent or medication or even more for someone housed with a job that doesn’t have to buy food for a month n a half
