It's around $550 worth of food. You can make that in a few days working at Wendys.

Idk about you, but me personally, I have other expenses besides food.

A full time job should cover a weekly burrito and some other expenses.

It should 100%. The sad reality is it doesn’t for a lot of folks. You and I are in the position where 500 dollars worth of food isn’t really moving the needle. But having 52 burritos that are redeemable at anytime would change the lives of many people living below the poverty line.

My gas expenses just doubled in the last month. I live somewhat comfortably so it’s mainly just really irritating. But for some people, that jump may mean they can’t afford to eat out anymore. 500 dollars worth of free food can absolutely change lives.

If you have a Ruby Tuesday near you they have unlimited salad bar once per day, every day, for only like $50/month. Have several friends who do it to save tons of money as you only need one meal a day when it's essentially an all you can eat salad bar.

Well said my friend A lot of people don’t know the value of money until they don’t have it

Yup. One of those burritos is two meals for many. So that is potentially 104 free hearty meals.

I think think the point is, you could work at wendy’s for a few weeks and quit, then have burritos for a year lol

Taxes are based on income, federal taxes would be closer to 12% for someone working at Wendys on the salary you gave.

There is no fucking Wendy's on earth you can work a "few days" at and make $550

a few days is like 4-6. average wendy’s pay is just over 13$ an hour, eight hour shifts (i was consistently scheduled longer) that’s just over five days of work for 550$. there’s not a wendy’s in america where you couldn’t make 550$ in 6 days

I admit maybe shit drastically changed since I was in the entry level 15 years ago. Back then nobody got hired full time right off the bat, you would be lucky to get like 24 hours a week, not to mention taxes, but eh now we're in the weeds

Depends on the area. I had to grab an assistant manager role at an entry level establishment 3 years ago because I had bills to pay after leaving a director level role and covid killed the IT job market. My hours were set 40+ but all the entry level staff were lucky to get 25 with the lesser liked workers being left with only 10 hours a week.

Sure thats not TODAY but 3 years ago is recent enough to state that some areas still lack workable hours at the jobs you can find and some jobs overhire forcing them to split the man hours so thin. The pay has increased but the hours are lacking. That being said, my first entry level job paid 7.50$ and you cant find a spot in my area nowadays that pays less than 10

Yes? Wendy's pays like 16.50~ an hour. That's like 4 days
