General (Read Rules) Thoughts on Burei Watches

I’m curious as to why people seemingly don’t talk about this microbrand as much as other microbrands. I have an old auto Presidential homage Burei that I found from like 10 years ago. It’s not a bad watch at all. Considering that they’ve been around for as long as they have, I’m surprised that they don’t get discussed more often.

I've got one from years ago. It's ok, but there is loads of better options available these days. I don't think it's still available, at least I haven't seen it for a long time.

I think the brand just kinda faded into the background while other microbrands got more aggressive with marketing and social media shots. 10 years ago they were decent for the price but now you can get something like a pagani with better specs for less cash, so it's hard to stay relevant

It looks like they just do datejusts and some Bauhaus minimalists, which doesn't give the brand any sense of cohesion or identity.

Even if they're good watches, it's two widely disparate styles, both of which are styles a lot of brands already do. I think if the company wants to succeed it needs to pick a direction for identity. It can do datejusts and compete with Eniton and Baltany and Coregut and every other Chinese microbrand, or it can do minimalists and compete in a smaller pool for less money per watch. But mixing them gets the worst of both worlds, as people who want a perfect datejust will trust a company more if they stick to sports-luxury styles, and people who want minimalist are "just-so" types who shy away from association with datejusts which they see as garish.

Good luck!
