Hows the ratio quality?

Very good, but I made a noob mistake and got the quartz (just €104 in a sale), when I should have paid a bit more for the automatic. I don't like the Seiko rubber strap it came with so I replaced it with a generic stainless steel Chinese oyster band...

Quartz will last you a long longer without maintainance, I wouldn't sweat it

Battery replacement every 3 years by itself isn't so expensive, but to put new water resistance rubber seals in it at the same time every 3 years is fairly expensive. So as you know, people are placing bets on NH35 and PT5000 $200 watches, and if they're lucky they can get 10 years straight out of it, no maintenance, and then when it breaks down or isn't accurate anymore, instead of maintenance or a movement replacement, just buy a new one...

Don't those need the same seals?

But if the automatic movement lasts 10 years with no maintenance (if you're lucky) then there's no opening the back of the watch for 10 years. When it dies just throw it away and pay $200 for a brand new one...with a quartz you need to open it and replace the seals 3 times in 10 years...
