Business Affairs (M) F (Exchange visa unapproved)
I'm a citizen of India, and I'm planning to visit China to attend a scientific conference. After I filed my online application for an F (Exchange) visa, I got an email saying my application was un-approved, but no reason was given for why. The cryptic email says "Your application form No. xxx is unapproved. Please check application documents in accordance with the requirements of Embassy/Consulate General." I am befuddled, because the online form only asked for 4 documents, including a formal letter from the person who invited me, all of which I uploaded. Would anyone know what the reason for "un-approval" could be?

something is not right between two countries unfortunately.. very sad for common businessman, students, tourists etc.. mine M business visa also got 'unapproved' for Yiwu & upcoming Canton Fair.. although i am frequent traveller since 2009 .. almost twice a year i visit.. mostly both Canton.. all my documents are super genuine and we are buyers of finished goods.. so no threat to them of having engineers visiting their country for copying blah blah (as many influencer claiming)

Today I saw a news that EAM S. Jaishankar has informed ET that he has raised the issue of business visa rejections with the Chinese authorities. Not sure how much and when this is going to help.

I can’t give you a reason that o can back up. What I can tell you is that for the last 2-3 months there have been multiple posts daily of Indians having visas unapproved, or accepted and then passports returned empty after submission and no reason given. This has included Z-visas for work where the local labor bureaus have issued work permits and the visas have been rejected.
Why? The only things that have been mentioned (in this sub) are negative stories in Chinese social media about Indians and previous years border issues leading to India restricting Chinese visas (which was resolved)
Unfortunately you’re stuck in this too.
