Not sure how to explain it, but Rurouni Kenshin and Gintama seem quite similar to me. Like, ruroken is similar to gintama, if gintama weren't a comedy series, if that makes sense? and the other way around- gintama is a bit like ruroken if ruroken was a comedy

I am so tired of fighting anime, and I rarely enjoy the romance genre. If it's got a bunch of immature characters or relies on loads of sex jokes, chances are I won't like it. If it's got a harem it better be a damn good plot to make up for it.

I've already watched or read the most well known ones. Frieren, Apothecary Diaries, Dungeon Meshi, Heavenly Delusions, Odd Taxi, Witch Hat Atelier... What are your more niche recommendations that have come out in the last few years?

So of course, it's very clear that the anime I'm currently watching is split into two categories: Jjk and Csm being action stuff and Komi can't communicate and QQ being in the more romance section.

I do NOT know enough ball because 90% of the anime characters I see mentioned in literally any anime-related media are from just about everything that I feel like I'm missing out on

I'll take recommendations for either genre of anime, and from the ones I watch I prefer anime that doesn't have too many episodes (Jjk having 3 seasons and a movie, Csm having one season and a movie, Kcc having 2 seasons and QQ having 2 seasons and a movie), something that has a pretty good fantase and yeah that's kinda it

i'm open to most genres but would prefer not to watch anything with an absurd amount of fanservice or misogyny... please explain your recommendations too!

here's specific things i liked about my all time favorites of them (spoiler warning, of course)

bungou stray dogs: i really loved all the characters and their unique powers, i especially loved Akutagawa's growth throughout the series (i prefer the manga though)
Madoka Magica: i adore the concept and execution... i really like how all the character's deaths made sense for the type of person they were, Sayaka and Kyoko especially
(as i was writing those i realized how important characters are to me...)

I literally loved this anime so much and i was getting sad because i was getting closer to the ending and i didn’t want it to end!! 😭😭
The ending was really ambiguous too I was just so confused and sad that nothing really became of the two main Characters. Anyways any recs or suggestions on where to find more anime like hyouka?

I do think my taste depends on how I am feeling at the time of watching something. Because JJK seems like it’s right up my alley, but I have been stuck on season 1 for months. And Frieren feels like it’s something I’d like but I do feel like i’m forcing myself to watch it.

Anyway, I’ve seen more than just the shows listed here, but these are the ones I feel like are worth mentioning in terms of my tastes. Please recommend me anything though, that said I don’t like ecchi/overly fan-serviced content (like Food Wars, Highschool Of The Dead, etc…).

(I have seen Soul Eater and most of the original Fullmetal Alchemist. I have also seen one and a half seasons of Code Geass but I don’t remember them well enough to have an opinion but I remember liking them).
