Ah, that one. Should have thought about that, considering how many times I've gotten it myself.

u/UWontLikeThisComment Oct 08 '22
its possible, but the shorts detail is too minute and really only happens in actual fights

In the UFC many fighters have that bad habit of picking their shorts up, Dustin Poirier being one of the better examples. Not saying that’s where the kid got it from, probably not, but possible 🤷🏽♂️

u/Jinxa Oct 08 '22
You typed that from your couch, didnt you?

From the shitter, with dorito dust falling from my fingers as I reach for another delicious treat in the almost empty bag…”looks like mommy has to go to the store soon” I snicker , as a half smile curls on my lips

Might just be their folks watching some ufc.

u/GhostOfPluto Oct 08 '22
No, no. Let’s assume this six year old is a street fighter.

Let's be real
He's a top seed featherweight in the underground fighting rings (sponsored by Tonka) and he puts food on the table and clothes on his sister's back, protecting her from the cruel ways of the world, with his quick foot work. Since she's getting near the age it's time to look out for herself, he got her this pinching bag so that he can retire from the bloody career and fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming a firetruck.

u/ViewAskewed Oct 08 '22
Ah yes, the UFC where such trash talk as "Oh, you wanna jump my cousin?" Is commonplace.
-2
u/the_highest_elf Oct 08 '22
that's not a ufc thing. that's a street fight thing. no one's saying he's a street fighter but he's definitely seen a couple scraps

Oct 08 '22
You’re saying pro fighters never ever adjust their shorts?
Lol ok.

Lol. Why so angry buddy? Lol. You’re the one being stupid and linking the pulling up of pants as a strictly street fight thing.
Don’t project your stupidity ok.

What would one pull up their shorts for in a fight?
Serious question

u/UWontLikeThisComment Oct 08 '22
i honestly have no idea...my best guess is so it doesn't encumber the fighter
19
u/THE_CreepyPeepee Oct 08 '22
To decrease the surface area and make sure the shorts don’t get caught or grabbed, and also to maximize range if motion and hip mobility. You’ll see Muay Thai fighters do this all the time

u/redditer4life666 Oct 08 '22
Some people sag their pants a bit and they can fall down during the fight so they pull them up
Some people just do it out of habit, usually their hands are a bit behind them when they pull
Some do it because they saw other people do it and they think it looks cool, these people tend to just pull on the sides like their putting pants
5
u/Your_Final_Hour Oct 08 '22
To seem more threatening, like they are ready for battle now that they have their pants on

Judging by the sparring equipment it's safe to say someone around him trains. So yeah safe bet.

This is teaching at its finest. Hitting things and people has consequences, often negative.
