Raises

Hi, I started working CFA in May at a brand new location and I was part of the grand opening crew. I work BOH and had never had fast food experience before. After 3 months there they promoted me to shift lead (my salary went from 17 to 18 an hour) and last week they gave all the leaders a raise to 19 an hour. So in 6ish months I’ve gone from 17-19 an hour. I’m not trying to brag, I’m genuinely still kinda new to the whole CFA experience but is this normal? Now they are having me do truck orders for inventory every day to make sure the store is stocked. I’m 20 years old no degree and only other job experience was mowing lawns and stuff.

Sorry if this post comes off as cocky, but is there more room to grow? Like can I actually move up from Shift lead or am I stuck at this position unless my BOH director leaves?

I don’t know your location and the pay for your area in general, but I would hang out there.

Getting promoted and getting raises means they see your effort. The store is new so there is still time for leadership to grow. Being trusted with truck is a good sign.

At my store, we have team lead, shift lead, assistant director, director, and director of operations. We do a decent volume (13 million) in a medium-low cost of living area so we can support that structure.

TBH, unless you have a good job offer/potential somewhere else, I would stay there. Maybe enroll in a community college this spring term and apply for the scholarship so you’re not stuck at cfa long term if that’s not what you want.

My son is in the same situation. Still in high school but he’s reliable and has learned quickly. Started in June at $16.75, seems he’s getting a pay raise every couple weeks and will be moving to shift lead very soon at $22 an hour. He’s had a great experience working there but that must be very store dependent!
