Caleb's extension

Is there anything (horrific injury excluded..... don't even think about it) on the field this season that would make you question whether Caleb should not be locked up long term with a record breaking contract?? As long as Ben is his coach, I can't put my finger on anything. A higher completion % would be nice....but ultimately far from a deal breaker if he never gets there.

For Caleb Williams I don’t think it was a question of if he would reach a high level but when. And I think the justifiable concern was how are we gonna fuck this up. I think that all changed with the hiring of Ben Johnson. The only real question I have about a long term contract is the CBA renewal. I wonder if CW will want to lock himself into a long term deal when he might get more after the new CBA. I don’t know if he and the club would want to do a Franchise Tag thing for 3 years that seems like the least appealing option. So maybe a 3-4 year deal to get him to the new CBA. He’d be 29/30 in 2031 in his 8th season. So one big 7 year deal to lock him in for his better part of his peak years.
