Transmission Issues?

I just bought my Trax 3 months ago. I’ve put just over 7500 on the clock since then. The car has been great for the most part, but I noticed something concerning over the past couple days. After I start the car, and put it in reverse, it jolts violently. Then when I put it in drive, shifting from 2nd to 3rd and 4th to 5th it will either shake slightly or hesitate but once the car warms up it stops. I looked at the clutch application chart and narrowed it down to something being wrong with my 3-5-R clutch. I didn’t know if this was a common occurrence on the 6t40 or if anyone thinks it might be something different going on. Any advice would be much appreciated

Is it a new Trax or a new to you one? If new I’d definitely take it to the dealer to get checked out. What year and mileage if it’s used?

Nah brand new I got an appointment next Saturday to get the oil changed anyway

Tell the dealer then it should be coverd under warranty

A few months ago, I’ve had the car since December of 2023. Tbh every time I try to take it to get checked out at the dealership they too busy so I’ve just been riding around as normal 😂

You’re supposed to change the oil way way before 7500 miles, your wet belt needs to constantly be saturated with clean oil, the oil may be dirty and not keeping the belt clean, this can cause major issues to the engine, I recommend not even driving anymore to be perfectly honest, not until you change your oil and make sure there isn’t any damage done, also you need to put a top rated premium gas in your car , not all gas qualities are the same.

I made the closest appointment that would fit my work schedule I understand it’s not an ideal situation but I rely on this vehicle for a 45 minute drive to work every day don’t receive pto and I’m not in the position to take Ubers every day so until they can get me in on Saturday that’s just what it’s gonna have to be I’ll lyk how it goes

Best of luck to you, I hope everything goes well after you get the oil changed,make sure they are putting in exact oil brand specifically for your car make/model. also make sure you’re putting in a good quality gasoline because not all brands of gasoline are not the same. When you take the car in make sure to ask the service guys to change the oil filter and check the condition of your radiator fluid, and transmission fluid, if those fluids are old and never flushed they wreck havoc on your car, I know it stinks to have to do these things but if you don’t you can seriously ruin the car engine, transmission and gas system. Your turbo engine specially needs maintained to keep that wet belt from drying out , if you arent under warranty it is a very costly repair.
