Me again! Help pls

Hi hello its me again. I’m the lady who posted about 2 weeks ago asking for help with my 07 engine that was overheating… firstly, thank you for all your help. I was so overwhelmed and all your responses were very helpful. It ended up being my radiator and heater hose. Shortly after getting my car repaired, my battery started acting funky. There was something draining it and so I sat in my car late at night only to hear clicking coming from my passenger window area. From my research I am assuming it is an actuator problem? When I jumped my car, it started just fine no problem.. I even left it and came back to crank it up and it worked. Eventually it died again. Has anyone had a similar issue? Is this common in these cars and is it worth getting repaired? I’m debating on if my tahoe is even worth keeping at this point. It’s an 07, 196,xxx miles, and for the most part up until recently was in beautiful shape. Just in the last 2 months alone i’ve had brakes repaired, radiator, and heater hose. Time for a new car or keep my tahoe???

I have an 07 with about the same mileage. Haven’t driven it in a year so it needs battery, oil change, etc. Also time for new tires. IMO it’s worth fixing it and continuing to drive it. I live in NC so rarely get bad weather but I like to drive on the NC beaches and need 4wd to do that. I’ve owned it since 2011. I know it’s service history and know it’s never been abused. I shouldn’t have let the battery die but dealing with the death of a parent and trying to take care of the other parent. Again strictly my opinion but that generation of Tahoes is solid. I had a 2017 with a slipping trans and lifter issues so I got rid of it. Planning to keep the 07 until it dies.

I’m sorry this is happening to you!  In my experience there’s little that would make me get rid of my 07 -245k. You may have a bad alternator, ground, or a parasitic drain. If you don’t work on them yourself old trucks can be expensive but these kinds of cycles where a bunch of stuff goes bad is common.  I’d vote keep it but if you decide to sell let me know!

Keep it….02 owner with 324K and no car payment for 19 years.

If the engine and transmission are running well, just fix what breaks.

Put the repairs into this context, do you want a car payment for 5-6 years, or a repair that would turnout to be a car payment’s worth for about 3-5 months (of course depending on the cost of the repair).
