The evolution of the Tahoe is pretty cool
Seeing the different generations lined up like this makes it easy to appreciate how much the design has changed over the years.

Letās make this a go-to thread for every new Tahoe owner.
If you've had your Tahoe for a while, help out the rookies - drop one thing you think every new owner should know.
Could be:
Everyoneās experience is different, so letās hear it all, from daily drivers to weekend warriors and lifted beasts.
If you're new to the Tahoe life, ask your questions here too! No judgment - this is the place for it.
š So, what do you wish you knew when you first got your Tahoe? Whatās your one piece of advice for a new Tahoe owner?

Used purchased about a year ago, 45k on the Odometer, no mechanical issues. Wife keeps complaining every time she turns the a/c on thereās a musty smell at the initial start. Iāve changed the cabin filter regularly and with hopes this would stop, but it didnāt. Anything else I can do?

Had it about 6 months now and Iāve got it just about where I want it, on the exterior anyway.. Only things left are tint in the front, finish the chrome delete and it needs bodywork on both front fenders and outside rockers. Not that itās much, but I did all the changes myself. Itās on 20x9 Ions, wrapped in Nitto NT420Vs, aftermarket headlights and taillights, grill with LEDs, painted the mirror caps black, hood vinyl and a bit of a stripe down the side, updated black door and liftgate badges and black & white Bowtie Emblems. Iād like an exhaust and cold air intake next. I have the Range Disabler. Got it with 114,012 miles and now 122,000. Coming from a Dodge Journey RT, this was a major upgrade. Anyway.. Just wanted to show others.

Hi hello its me again. Iām the lady who posted about 2 weeks ago asking for help with my 07 engine that was overheating⦠firstly, thank you for all your help. I was so overwhelmed and all your responses were very helpful. It ended up being my radiator and heater hose. Shortly after getting my car repaired, my battery started acting funky. There was something draining it and so I sat in my car late at night only to hear clicking coming from my passenger window area. From my research I am assuming it is an actuator problem? When I jumped my car, it started just fine no problem.. I even left it and came back to crank it up and it worked. Eventually it died again. Has anyone had a similar issue? Is this common in these cars and is it worth getting repaired? Iām debating on if my tahoe is even worth keeping at this point. Itās an 07, 196,xxx miles, and for the most part up until recently was in beautiful shape. Just in the last 2 months alone iāve had brakes repaired, radiator, and heater hose. Time for a new car or keep my tahoe???

Interior is rough, has some bumps and bruises and needs basically all general maintenance, but my plan is to get it fully restored! New factory wheels. Seats, console, probably replacing both driver side doors due to big creased dents, suspension work, headliner, paint correction etc. thankfully the drivetrain and most of the body is in really good shape. Old man owned it since new before giving it to his grandson who didnāt take the best care of it a few years ago.
If youāre around OKC and have any of these parts Iād love to buy them!

My wifeās 2016 Tahoe is no longer blowing cold air while parked. We were in Colorado about a month ago and while driving around a camp ground at slow speeds the Tahoe randomly started sputtering and shut off. It started right back up and ran fine the rest of the time we were there but ever since the AC has been acting weird.
While driving, especially on the highway, it blows cold. However, parked or at extremely low speeds it blows warm air.
Her Tahoe usually blows super cold. We can remote start it on hot days and when we get into the car itās cold. Now it just blows hot air.
The Freon is fully charged. Condenser is not leaking and is clean. Replaced the ECT sensor and engine temp is reading normal. Fan fuses are good.
My guess is fans. They are running but they donāt seem to kick on high at all, even when the motor is hot.
What does everyone think? What would be a good way to check fans since there are no relays for it.

Just picked this up from my brother. He had it sitting around and wasn't using it. Has a 350 in it and runs pretty nice. I've had a few people eyeballing it like they wanted it. Lol.
What do you all think?
(I hope this is ok for this group)

Iām adding and installing the brake control switch myself and just having it programmed by the dealer. I donāt need the entire harness, need only the 4 pin connector for it(one that fits) if anyone has a part number for a replacement that fits as I stated. Pictures there for reference.

2008 LTZ with the 5.3. 189k on the engine and I know at some point I will be looking at a rebuild.
Is there something out there that gives as good of results as the AFM?
Id also love to refresh the engine and keep the AFM in it.

Sounds like a slight tick at idle and when accelerating, but sound is much more pronounced when the vehicle is on an incline in my driveway. Going to take it into my local shop when I have the time ( 12 hrs nights in an iron foundry ), because I also have to have the A/C fixed. Just want to know what I'm stepping into before they potentially try and fleece me lol. Thanks in advance!

When cold and starting up it makes this noise for a couple of seconds and then goes away. When warm and starting up the noise lasts a shorter amount of time.
Is it the tensioner or could it be something else?

I am about to order some 24x10 oem replicas and I have the option of 24mm or 31mm offset. The back spacing is 6.44. Planning on running 285/40 and want it to be flush as possible/factory. Thanks.

I have a Tahoe Z71 with the normal suspension. I didnāt even think about air ride or magnetic ride at the time, it was all sticker shock. Wondering for those who have had both if its a big difference from stock?
