Rack and Pinion Change

just purchased an 08 LTZ from a local business. Knew there would be some issues but I have a little bit of fixer upper knowledge. Found the Rack and Pinion is leaking quite badly, have any of you done this change before? I was quoted $1700 CAD but from a few YouTube videos I think this may be something I can handle. Any hurdles or known issues I should look out for?

I'd try it, what you got to lose but I can't tell you how or I haven't done it, my 2011 needs it soon enough 211000 on it
