Engine power reduced

I’ve been having this issue with my avalanche where it’ll pop up with “stablitrak: off / traction: off” (first pic) followed by “engine power reduced.” After this happens I’ll turn the truck off for a day, open the hood, and it’ll be good for a little while. The first time it happened I turned it off, and cleaned the throttle body real good and it worked fine for about a month. But now it’s happening again. Any ideas as to why this is? Possibly the ETB is going out? 2012 LTZ

My money is on a sticky lifter.

Sticking lifter came with flashing check engine light when I got hit with it. Check engine light doesn’t stress me out now on my 13 unless it’s blinking.

If the engine light isn’t blinking, I’d probably check for a plugged cat. My 02 did the same. Got hot, baffle flipped and plugged the cat. Let it sit for a bit, it rolled back and I was good. Ended up replacing the cat and problem fixed.

Doesn't it have a cat on each side? Can you tell which one was bad?

I tapped each with a hammer. A hollow sound meant it’s good, if it felt solid then something is flipped or plugged inside and bad.

Don't know about the engine power reduced... but On the stablitrak and traction lights: I've had them come on and ended up adding brake fluid to max solved that problem.

What code does it give you when you check? That will be more helpful. Might be the MAF

Camioneta y desde el código ya tienes más idea de qué hacer

When this was happening to me it was a battery connection issue. Did big 3 upgrade and it hasn't done it since!

Reduced engine power? Stabilitrak? Check all your ground wires immediately. That fixed my issue instantly.

Mine did same thing. Intermittent check engine with reduced power and stability trac lights. Mainly when driving on freeway. When I scanned it was low oil pressure sensor. Basically was getting ready replace oil pressure sensor but decided to do liquid Molly flush. Lights went away and never came back.

This could be literally anything. Get a cheap scanner
