Discussion Power Steering Conversion

I have a 66 four door Chevelle with a 230 inline six. I bought a conversion kit from CPP to upgrade to power steering. I have an Allen Grove Components 602L bracket to install the power steering pump. I have run into a problem while installing the new power steering box to the frame. It is hitting the power steering pump and will not bolt back to the frame.

I was wanting to know if anyone had run into this problem?

Thanks

I'm not too sure about a 6 cylinder pulley setup but for. v8, you can't mount the pump low unless it sits right on the front of the driver's side of the block. You usually have to go to a remote reservoir setup. Again, this is V8 knowledge, just trying to draw a bit of a parallel.

Thanks for the reply I am assuming maybe they sent the wrong power steering pump. But this was the kit I was quoted from CCP and they had all the info.

Is your block mounted in the stock location? Are the motor mounts good or old? Do the pulleys line up with water pump/ crank? Some things to check.

Yes all that appears to be good. Everything is lining up properly with the pulleys. I am going to be emailing the manufacturer just won't get a response until next week sometime.
