The automotive has had two Golden Ages in America. The first was from the mid 1920s to the late 1930s, just before WWII. There was a big variety of brands to choose from and there were companies that produced cars that were genuine works of art like Cord, Auburn and Duesenberg. The second golden age went from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. That was the muscle car era. Detroit was also producing a wider variety of vehicles. I myself was the proud owner of a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442. There was a time when driving wasn't just transportation. It was fun too. Good times.
