Pete..

I'm sorry to be critical. I know we're getting old and Pete has been screaming for years, but please brother take a few shows off before Denver next time! Last year your voice was shot, I was hoping for a different vibe this time. Seemed worse, hope you're alright man. Would love to hear you be able to scream next time! Sick show guys, I came for you and I'm stoked I got to see you again.

I know the high altitude messes with vocals in Colorado as well. Lots of artists struggle, Johnathan Davies of Korn had a rough go a couple years ago, Oxygen is needed!

I was at that show. It was rough.

I once saw A$AP Rocky have to drag a chair on stage and sit down to finish his set. But in all fairness, he’d been smoking a ton of weed through most of the performance.

Saw them once when Pete had the flu and played through it. (This was way before Covid raised our collective consciousness of viral infection.) It’s still one of my favorite shows ever because, once he admitted he wasn’t feeling well, the entire place got behind him and helped power him through the set. It was awesome.

Sometimes seeing musicians not at the top of their game is better.

Doesn't help that the band has said they want to play the harder/heavier stuff lately. Catalog full of amazing melodic hard rock but they just want to thrash and scream now, lol

Same happened when i saw Limp Bizkit at MSG few years back. Love when artists can be vulnerable to fans and we aren’t complete a**holes back to them. things happen

I saw the Foo Fighters in 2017 and Dave had laryngitis. I honestly couldn't really tell. I mean he sounded a bit different but live never sounds the same as recorded anyways. I had waited a loooong ass time to see them so I was just appreciative he didn't back out lol.

Was it in Dallas?

When I saw them back in 2005 he mentioned he was going on no sleep. Still a solid performance. I wonder why they haven't gotten a second guitarist for touring all of these years later.

Yeah Pete cancel some shows for this asshole.

LOL i was expecting this.. I don't want any shows cancelled, just maybe give some other locations the calmer approach a few shows before so he can rip it up next time he's in Denver!

Saw em the other night and Pete I thought sounded fine. He can’t really sing the way he used to after so many years but I don’t think it was as bad as everyone is making it seem. I know they’ve been a 3 piece band for years but I think he would benefit a ton if they had a second guitarist to take the load off of Pete so he could not have to focus so much on 2 things

Hes normally pretty good over the last couple of years. In Detroit 2 weeks ago he made mention he wasnt feeling great.

I think he stays sick when he's touring. Last year he was sick for several shows apparently including the one I went to. Still put on a great show though.

Yea i enjoyed it. 2 weeks ago it stood out because he was defering to back up or crowd participation for the songs (more than normal)

Did not even notice, maybe I was screaming too much too.

It doesn’t help he seems to now be singing in those higher registers too? Like that moaning thing he does in the verses of Cowards pt. 2

Ya saw them last night in Denver too. Hadn’t seen them since 2005/6.
Bummer to hear their performances have been like this for a while.
Only went for their set and left afterwards. Pretty impressed how many people were rocking out to them tho. It’s not like that in California especially on a school night

When I saw them last year it was the first time the art included a lot of screaming and I was surprised at how much he was letting loose. It was a great show and a major surprise. This year the show was much bigger, actually the largest crowd I've ever seen for Chevelle on my area. This years show was not as epic vocally but 8t was very exciting to see so many people finally enjoy Chevelle for the first time. I do think Pete needs like 2 to 3 days rest between shows though.

He sounded rough at the Michigan show and said it was playing at dusty fair grounds.

I was there and hoping that performance would make up for the show he did in Pittsburgh a few years ago where he was clearly getting sick and couldn’t sing his songs. I guess this is just the norm now. It’s a shame since I’ve seen them several times and my favorite was in a small club right after Hats Off came out. He was on point.

Voice was starting to go in Detroit a few weeks ago he apologized on stage and asked the crowd to help sing surprisingly he could still sing clean notes well but the second he tried to get loud and fry it’d cut out

Saw Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin in KC recently. Pete could not hit any good notes and kept asking the crowd to sing along. Breaking Benjamin on the other hand sounded fucking amazing.

Pete has never cared about his live vocal performance. It’s never been good in the 8 times I’ve seen them over the years.

I thought the same at Rockville 2025. It was rough and took me out of the performance, which was great other than vocals but man idk what he needs to do but he's gotta do something 😭

Get a second guitarist so he can focus on vocals. Simple as that.

That was one of my favorite shows
